Hmm. Interesting. I wonder if all effects will end up being beneficial. It'd be kind of fun to have negative effect cards as well, though perhaps players should be given incentive to place those in a Fortune Deck. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

I did hear that no negative effects will be around, which is a bit sad. It would have been an interesting combination, but I guess 4E just doesn't like "negative" effects. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

So each player could possibly have a deck? O_O
I agree on BJ on this, but I'd rather have the players get cards from the DM as a "reward", expanding their own decks as DM gives them more. That is costly on the DM's POV though. Something in that line. _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

That does sound expensive, erwin. I say let them buy and build their own deck. It gives them the fun of customizing their cards in the same way as M:tG. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

The Despair Deck and You
Although, I must note that it's completely distinct from the fortune cards.
Also, changed the thread title. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Strangely, I have an easier time imagining a Despair Deck in play as opposed to a Fortune Deck. Possibly because WotC keeps releasing campaign settings rife with melancholy and despair
This could work in Dark Sun, no? _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

I guess this is 4ed's version of cursed items/effects of 3.5.
I have a feeling that they would soon release actual pre-assembled encounter decks O_O _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate
