@erwin: Get a girlfriend, dude. And I don't mean a good-times girl. In the vein of d_a's

...think about your family. man.

But yeah, if you want to be self-based about it, think of all the stuff you can buy with a decent salary, places you can go to, etc, etc...

You have motivation right NOW. What is it? Otherwise, you'd have killed yourself like, weeks ago.

Heh. I quite agree with this Razz

But if there's anything I've learned from motivation, it's that it comes from within. Don't wait for things to happen, seize the bull by the horns, so to speak. Otherwise nothing will ever happen for you.

I'll get a girlfriend, but not now, and not because I need to.

I'm just not motivated to study, it didn't imply me not wanting to live anymore, just so we're clear.

@b_b: Yeah, it is. I'm not waiting for it, I'm looking for it. It's somehow 'misplaced'.

Really appreciate your concern guys. Very Happy

Christmas party karaoke again? Very Happy

Rant: I really need to get my books in order now that we have a puppy running around gnawing on furniture and leaving landmines and puddles everywhere.

Videoke sounds great, but the thought of the things we're to be doing seems exhausting. Charming night with good food sounds awesome, too... Hard to choose on my part, damn it. I'm feeling a little more sentimental again... Laughing

Why not take the Star Wars SE engine and adapt it to D20 Modern? D20 Modern raw is...wonky. Alternatively, try WoD for a more freeform game.

WCS, I think my d20 modern is with bj if you want to borrow it.

It is indeed with me, but I don't agree with your assessment that it's the WCS. If the goderator wants to play d20 modern, let him play d20 modern. XD

All things considered, I want to use SWSE to play Star Wars. And NWoD just does something entirely different from d20.

I have never played any game system you have mention, Revs, so I do not know how the gameplay-feel so I do not know if they would satiate my desire to play d20 modern.

True. Well, the thing that sorta bugs me about d20 modern is the leveling mechanic making characters significantly harder to kill or effect past around level 5+, unless you match them with increasingly bigger stuff. WoD impressed me in our last game with its ability to reduce even skilled characters to bloody pulp if they misplay against even comparatively weaker mooks.

On SWSE, BJ is right, it's better for Star Wars, but the level and class mechanics are very similar to d20 modern, so it works relatively nice. That said, you'd have to port over stuff.

WoD is point rather than level based, with you spending xp to improve stats and skills. Intended for modern horror, but that depends entirely on how the Storyteller and players maintain the mood.

Or just play D&D 4E already! (Or perhaps Pathfinder. I hear a lot of good things about the system, but I haven't read the rules yet.)

RANT:
-Work means you can by neat stuff.
-Work never leaves you the time to enjoy neat stuff.
-I sort of hoped that my new room would end up neat and clear. I actually wanted to enjoy that old beanbag once we cleared all the stuff out. But as usual, it's turned into the default dumping spot of choice for assorted crap. I have absolutely zero personal perimeter back here.
-I love sourcebooks. Absolutely love them. But every game day, I find myself lugging around 20+ lbs of books with me, and neither my bags or my back can keep on taking this strain. demmit.

@Revan&Xtian: If you're interested in purchasing Pathfinder (pdf or hardcopy), you can check out the system first at the Pathfinder SRD. IMO, it's the best 3.x incarnation to date.

My rant: My DDi is experiencing problems. I bought a new subscription, but my old one is still there registered as expired. Somehow, that prevents me from using the old one.

All is well if I could only contact DDi... But I can't. Their email link sends me to a temporary infinite loop page.

*sigh* I'll work on this when I get home from class later. At least Globe's back... >.>

I've been reading the PFSRD eversince it was released (including the bestiary) and Paizo actually did a good job of improving it.

My (personal) rant is that I am a bigfan of planescape and I can't seem to connect pathfinder to planescape as I did with 3.5.
