Planning is in Spell Compendium, iirc. Grants Extend Spell, iirc. Don't remember the spell list. It's a very good domain because of the bonus feat. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

I'll be a Hobgoblin!
Still unsure whether a TWFighter or Archer..
BTW, I've notice, why is quickbrownfox's avatar look bigger than normal? I mean that wasn't there a 80x80 size limit? I think it's bigger... _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

To those still not in the know: game on Saturday will be at Bo's Coffee katips. 1-4pm (with possible but unlikely extension to 5pm). Expect combat. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Don't we get a meeting of comrades/leaders or something?

I'm no longer joining the campaign.

Players know it's a war campaign.
Your characters don't know yet.
Not joining? Isn't that rash? But oh, well. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

I've noticed that as of 12:00nn today, Nov10, a lot of people in this campaign are still ol.
I did say 1:00 sharp, right?
And don't worry about me, I'm already here... _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Next game is on December8. Same place, same time. If I'm feeling extravagant I might rent out the board room.
Notes:
*Chips are well and good, but they don't go well with the Coffee Shop feel. Maybe chocolate chip cookies next time.
*Am using Deus Ex Machina on Plague. He never used a Haevy Flail; it was a longsword that glows with a sickening green color. He is still surrounded by locusts, but his features are now obscured by a long black cloak ala Naz'gul.
*Those who were unable to join can still do so next month. No bonus Xp, so you'll be going in as 10th level, (or 7th if LA+3)
Will edit as I go. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Hmm..
(1)Can a warmage get Precautious Apprentice with invisibility as its spell?
(2)Do you allow Precautious Apprentice feat in your campaign? ( this should have been the 1st question)
(3)Will you allow me to go Venerable Human ? _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

Oh man, do I luv messing with venerable characters!
Scenario wrote: | (5 sessions after Player's Fighter Z became venerable)
Player: After waking up, Z takes a quick bath and proceeds with his morning exercises.
DM: However, as Z is taking his bath, the world begins to spin and grow darker. He struggles and manages to crawl off the tub before the darkness consumes him.
Player: WTF?! What's happ'ning?
DM: Z wakes up to find himself in a strange, barren place. As he tries to move, he discovers that his body won't respond. He looks left and right, and finds only an ever-shifting wall made from bone, sinew, and screaming faces. It dawns upon him: the Wall of the Faithless... |

I'm not sure, but I believe the Red Knight has Planning (just check the mandrakori thread).
And for emphasis, yes I'm allowing venerable human. Just don't blame me if you suddenly get cardiac arrest in the middle of a campaign and, you know, die naturally without possibility of true ressurection (or even most epic ressu!) ) _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

That works. Hell for rp, though. Druids for one would probably not agree if the intent is to prolong your natural lifespan...
Btw, Q, will you be joining on the 8th? I need an estimate of my party size soon. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

That's where the artificers enter. Goodluck with the roll though as he might end up as a kobold. _________________ solbergb on sorcerers:

Asides from Experience points, two rewards are worth mentioning here. Heroes of Battle's Victory points and Recognition Points. Note that when given quest options, one is worth more victory points than the other, while another is worth more recognition points (I won't specify which). A third quest option is sometimes unlocked with RP. needless to say all quests are to be rewarding.
Victory Points
Victory points (vp's) are awarded when you achieve, well, victory. Even if you didn't really defeat a force, you are going to be awarded full xp. But running away from Alazlam won't give you any vp. Defeating him will.
So what do vp's give? Well, the March of Alazlam has four possible endings: the more vp's pooled at the end of the campaign, the better the ending.
Vp's are tallied as a fraction, with the numerator being the vp's the party has gained and the denominator being the maximum the party could have gained. It is also tallied as a party point (as opposed to xp, which is an individual point).
Recognition Points
Recognition Points (rec.pts) is an inividual point. It is further divided into two:
*Decoration Points: You tally decoration points, and when you cash it in to the DM, roleplay gives you receive an item (usually a medal, but the Mandrakori might use other items) in a grand ceremony. When an NPC sees your decoration and identifies it, you gain a bonus on cha-based checks made to influence that NPC. The exact bonus varies depending on the number of decoration points you cash-in.
*Promotion Points: Unlike dec.pts, promotion points aren't cashed in. When you achieve a certain amount of ppts, your rank increases, and consequently you may get better commander auras, and NPC's treat you with more respect (the active ones get followers even without the leadership feat).
When a character receives recognition points, they are split evenly into dec and pro points.
Example: Say Taylos took down a hellfire Engine while witnessed by the Mandrakori Army. He gains 20 recognition points for the act. 10 of those become decoration points while the other ten become promotion points.
Alternatively, a character can buck for one of the recognition types. In that case, he gets 3/4 of the recognition points in the type he bucked for, while he gets no points in the other type.
Example: Taylos really wants that company commander promotion. So Taylos bucks for promotion after defeating the Hellfire Engine. Of the twenty rec.pts, 15 are gained as promotion points while the rest are lost.
For more information, consult chapter 4 of Heroes of battle. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Follow-up: At one point i declared that every character in the campaign starts out with commander rating 2. To support that, all characters start out with 25promotion points, and 0 decoration points.
The bearer of the Claw of Ordo Dracul receives 10decoration points.
The bearer of the Sower of Thunder receives 10decoration points. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |
