Well, I could have said 'Thanks-Japan-for-succumbing-to-international-pressure-and-humouring-an-extremely-simplistic-proposition-and-by-doing-so-encouraged-certain-politicians-eager-to-curry-favor-with-the-Church' but that would have been unwieldy.

Just finished Dennou Coil. good show, sort of a lite sci-fi, which I needed. though i really didn't like the slow start.

Which made me go sci-fi animes these days, more on mystery.

Does anyone have Experimental Lain? Me borrow it Very Happy

Can you guys recommend interesting manga reads? It is kinda boring waiting for the next Naruto ( Why??? I honestly don't know.) and FMA ( Since the first and second anime series are lies. The first one had no consistency with regard to the manga and the second one is too dramatic and they filtered out the fight scene of Ed and Al when they were still kids T__T).

Honestly, I'm preferring the first series right now. The second, occasionally has moments of awesome, but not quite as impressive imho.

If you like sport-type manga then Eyeshield 21 is a good recommendation. You don't even have to be very familiar with the game to understand as the manga itself will give some pointers about it. It recently ended, so you don't have to wait for updates.

There's also Crying Freeman, a seinen action (gar) manga. Sadly there is no online view of this, that's how good (and licensed Laughing) it is. b_b might help you, i think he still has a copy.

There's Franken Fran, a horror comedy manga. A really interesting read, especially how it pulled off the horror-comedy thing. Though this one is still ongoing the stories are pretty episodic.

Though I didn't actually read it, there's also Midori no Hibi/Midori Days, a comedy romance school life manga which started out as supernatural. It's almost the same as the anime version, but manga has more character developments, and a lot more interesting (mnor) characters are left unmentioned or untackled.

That's 4 distinct manga recommendations, since I'm not entirely sure of what type of mangas you'd read. If you're looking for something of a certain genre, just say so. One of us manga geeks here could tell a thing or two. Very Happy

I've never tried watching the 2nd series but most of i heard about it is it's not very impressive, but at the same time it's not really that bad, aside from the frequent 'Ed is short' jokes. I'll probably pick that up sometime.

Black Lagoon Season 3.. i mean OVA

No other details for now. Which reminds me to borrow both seasons of it, I believe juaberman has Revan's CDs.

Just borrowed EVA Death and Rebirth, and Serial Experiments Lain. Will watch them (hopefully) this week, so I could watch more stuff, before August.

Q, you're Serial Experiments Lain CD doesn't play in our DVD player, which could suppose to read .avi files. The DVD says it's CDrom type, which I think it means it's a data disc.

Finished EVA Death and Rebirth, expected as much.

And now I have no anime to watch. except for Love Hina Again, which I suddenly recalled that I've watched already during 1st year college.

So watch something besides anime. :p

Patlabor 2 movie was...interesting. Quite cerebral. And there's something beautiful about how Mamoru Oshii uses the montage to set tone. Wonder if the series and the first movie are also worth watching.

Ghost In The Shell 1 Manga is also a fascinating read. Quite an experience comparing the hyper-professional femme-fatal wetwork agent of Motoko Kusanagi's most recent incarnations (ie Solid State Society) with the original feel of Sho-sa Kusanagi, who reads much more money-grubbing and down to earth in the manga. And I finally find out where the lesbian angle comes from in Kusanagi's character.

Also, Masamune Shirow is an awesome, awesome, detail monkey. The level of gribblies in Appleseed and The Ghost In The Shell is incredible. That almost makes up for the pseudo-science mysticism of some of his footnotes, imo.

I am. I just want to watch more anime lately, probably because of the fact we've been watching movies (old or new, animated or not, good or bad, as long as it's more entertaining than local channel shows) almost every other day, ever since we had that new DVD player (which was months ago)

Can Satsujinki kill servants?

****************
EDIT:
I have recently taken up a liking on Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, thanks to TV5. *shudder*

well this IS Satsujinki we're talking about here, and not Shiki. the teaser given by TYPE-MOON decribes our future anemic boy well... not anemic for one. surpassing his former physical limits, not to mention his mystic eyes going out of control thus requiring the use of bandages, I think Nasu's planning to give Satsujniki some serious badassery when...if the visual novel comes out.

and to answer your question, MAYBE. for me it's depedent on which servant class (and which heroic spirit as well)

for now let's use the one in the picture (Archer, the Shiro one)

i'm not sure about the true nature of reality marbles (and whether the have "lines" or not) but Archer, despite being awesome and all, has actually average physical stats. he relies mostly on his projections and some technique but other than that, he'll get beaten by Satsujinki for sure (Nanaya blood after all)

100% accurate comic about Persona 4 opening.

Can't argue with that.

I went 'WTF?!' when I first read it. Though I wouldn't have minded a HF movie either with the GARm. Here's to hoping that they use the same people as the KnK adaptations and not studios like, say, Gonzo.

Unlimited Blade Works movie for FSN... that story is looooooooooooooong.... how are they going to fit it in 2 hours? It's longer than FSN or FHA.

"GILGAMESH!!!"
"EMIYA!!"

*slash slash slash*

"GILGAMESH!"
"EMIYA!!"

*slash slash slash*

============
"SHIROU!"
"ARCHER!!"

*slash slash slash, with a bit of deep blah blah voice over about life, fighting, why the toast lands butter side down, etc*

"SHIROU!!"
"ARCHER!!!"

*slash slash slash*

============
"I'm never gonna sleep with you again!!!"
"FFFFUUUUUUUUU-!"

See? UBW in less than 20 lines. [lines arranged in order of awesomeness, of course. From least to greatest].

Also, the scene "Assaulting a Saint" would be in between Rin's rejection and Archer-Shirou fight.
