currently watching Ef: A Tale of Melodies

I'm only up to ep 5, but all I can say (for now) is whatthehell?, whatthefcuk?!, and whattatweest!!

Full of lies, deceit, , deranged people, emoness, insanity, and drama (so far)

Opening scene changes everytime, but usually just colors, or add-ons. Didn't actually see it at first, just knew after reading wiki (no, not for spoilers, for music).

Also, most of the things would only make sense if you watch Ef: A Tale of Memories. Looks like the first half includes an aftermath of the the first Ef series, with SPOILER: { cameo of almost every character in the first series, Chihiro meeting Kei after 5 years, and how every character is connected to each other.}

watch it juaberman.

EDIT: just watched ep 6, and it was...
just watch it

Hai guise. Posting some Figmas in a Jap thread.

Haven't opened Fate yet since I just took her home lol.

I saw Fate Unlimited Codes SP Box set for 8000 Php. Chances of me getting it is so so.. Though I'm not sure if I could get it in time. I mean, it'll prolly be May or June until I save up 14kPhp [I still need to pay for 1/7 GSC Saber Lily]

I pick up the stuff from Greenhills. They do make deliveries though
Wasabi Toys wrote:

I live outside of Metro Manila. Can you deliver my order to me?

Certainly! But we are not from Planet Krypton, so we will have to avail the services of forwarders, preferably Air21 mainly because of good pricing, convenience & good service.

But of course, you will have to shoulder the delivery charges and regional bank charge of P50. Whenever you request us to send you your orders, we will quote you the delivery charges together with your order. When you're not from Manila, the only payment option is bank transfer, as we do not accept credit card payments yet.

WasabiToys also allows special orders.

Wasabi Toys wrote:

What is a "Special Order" item?

This is an available item that will only be ordered from our suppliers when you request for it. Please take note that we do not have a real-time record of its availability, therefore we will always double-check with our suppliers after you have sent the order to us, and then we will confirm it with you after we have word from "The land of toy-ness."

PS. There's a sale at Wasabitoys from Feb 23 to March 4 lol. Only on selected items.

Hai guyz. I just downloaded some Makoto Shinkai stuff.

First is She and her Cat, a four minute OVA of some sorts. The cat is voiced by Makoto Shinkai himself. Not so baww.. But is rather derp.

Second is The Place Promised in Our Early Days. Okay, I haven't actually finished downloading it but meh.

^seen both. I wouldn't waste time on the latter, unless you're into yaoi. I mean, hey, if that's your thing... well, y'know. She and Her Cat is pretty ok though.

lol, not exactly yaoi (more like shounen-ai), but it emphasizes on friendship (and we know where that leads to sometimes :/)

5 CENTIMETER PER SECOND ROCKS YOUR SOUL!! LITERALLY!

Also, Pimp Cat is Pimp. (in she in her cat)

Yup. The first one is a case that comes with the game. The bottom ones are from a VN themed CCG. So, yes, you can fight Berserker using Nagisa etc. I'm just interested for the TYPE-MOON stuff.

Taken from /m/
Some /m/ tripfag wrote:
It appears to me that Ren and Stimpy at the American equivalent of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Evangelion's success was due largely to its strong characters, who were humanized forms of standards in anime of the day such as the tsundere or yamato nadeshiko. Those personalities were shown disturbingly to have had an origin which led to their formation, and the events around them cause them to contort. Ren and Stimpy does not possess a format that allows this, but at the same time delivers a human grit to the characters that was yet to be seen. Some characters were at times malicious, a far uglier and more truthful display than the playful violence shown in golden age cartoons. Other characters are merely irresponsible - the only ones who can ever truly be good are the ones who are too stupid to be anything else. While at times Ren and Stimpy shows the true cruelty of classic cartoon characters, it is mostly the surreal universe that shows the sad display. In an existential way, the existence of the bizarre in the universe has no purpose and does not serve anyone, often leading Ren and Stimpy to their deaths for no good reason. Like in Eva, a broken world filled with broken people cannot fix itself.

I can sort of see some similarities between Asuka and Ren. They're both cruel to the person they view as lesser to them, perhaps knowing that that person has more potential. They both demand to take the lead and be praised as the superior one, though Ren tries to pull Stimpy back whereas Asuka merely pushes herself away from others. Not to mention that they're both simply unbalanced.

In brief, Evangelion brings a psychological tone of a certain level to anime, while Ren and Stimpy brings it to Western animation. Their influence, however, was limited to thin robots and psychobabble or gross-out humour.
