well, more info bout planeswalker cards
A quick recap of the Planeswalker rules, according to the InQuest issue:
- effectively legendary (can't have more than one of each planeswalker)
- come into play with loyalty counters equal to the number in the bottom right
- play only one ability of each planeswalker on each of your turns, including the turn it comes into play, by adding or removing loyalty counters
- when you attack a player, you can assign any number of your attackers to their planeswalker(s)
- the defending player can block creatures attacking their planeswalker(s)
- whenever a spell or ability you control would deal damage to an opponent, you may assign that damage to their planeswalker(s) instead
- each damage dealt to a planeswalker removes a loyalty counter from it
- if all the loyalty counters are gone, sacrifice the planeswalker
Well, next thing to spoil is choose your tribe...Yup, Lorwyn is a two-way road, either Tribal or Planeswalker (and can be both)
Other tidbits from the article:
- elves (G/b) are sociopaths, have some removal, are fast, use their numbers to generate big effects, and there's a token named "Elf"
- kithkin (W/g) are attackers, have abilities that are better on the offensive, and have a Keen Sense streak
- merrow (U/w) are merfolk that swim up streams and channels to fight, have islandwalk, give opponents islands, and have a group effect involving tapping and untapping to generate a stream of effects
- boggarts (B/r) are cruel tricky goblins, sacrifice themselves, and reanimate their dead
- greater elementals (r/w/u/b/g) are powerful embodiments of a Lorwyn concept such as "Dread", all have a new keyword, and generate a powerful effect when combined
- flamekin (R) are fiery humanoid elementals, grant each other activated abilities like firebreathing, and generate mana of any colour to play elemental spells or abilities
- giants (R/W) are large, destructive, and love throwing creatures or other permanents at players or other creatures
- faeries (U/B) are tricksters, all fly, are 2/1 or 3/1 or 4/1, and the blue ones have flash to counter spells, tap things, and bounce things
- treefolk (G/b/w) are resilient, often have 7 toughness, have abilities to protect themselves, and cost 3 mana and up
Next spoilage, some visuals straight from MTGS...
And some spoilage minus the visuals...(copy-paste is a powerful tool in such browsers ~~,)
Favor the Mighty - 1w
Tribal Enchantment - Giant (R)
Each creature with the highest converted mana cost has protection from all colors.
Kithkin Greatheart - 1w
Creature - Kithkin Soldier (C)
Kithkin Greatheart gets +1/+1 and has first strike as long as you control a Giant.
2/1
Maneuver of the Demon - uu (a card to look out for)
Instant (U)
As an additional cost to play Maneuver of the Demon, return a creature you control to owner's hand.
Counter target spell.
Think - u (another great card IMO)
Instant (C)
Look at the top three cards of your library. You may put them back in any order or shuffle your library.
Draw a card.
Banquet on Bottom of Foot - 2b
Instant (C)
Put any number of target creature cards from your graveyard on top of your library.
Draw a card.
Smoke Rolling - 1r
Creature - Elemental Shaman (C)
: Add two mana of any one color to your mana pool. Spend this mana only to play Elemental spells or activated abilities of Elementals.
1/1
Change Body Into Forest - 1g
Creature - Shapeshifter Soldier (C)
Shapeshift (This creature is every creature type even if this card isn't in play.)
2/2

Hmm...
Vastly improved bloodshot cyclops is nice.
Though, are those rough translations or something, "Banquet on bottom of foot" sounds stupid. _________________

hmm, actually lorwyn's in the corner and official previews were starting to shoot out of their boxes, some were the Red Planeswalker 3RR with 6 loyalty, a treefolk that makes other treefolks and forests indestructible and a GW 2/2 kithkin that makes all noncreature spells with cmc 4 and up unplayable...and so is noncreature spells with X in their mana cost...haha, take that Wrath of God/Damnation! ~~,
and, about the counterspell faerie, it's 1U, 1/1 flash, flying, counter target spell unless its caster pays 1 for each faerie in play ~~,. hello spiketail hatchling ~~,
is it me or am i smelling a UW fish deck? ~~, _________________

Quote from "A Taste of Lorwyn" by Doug Beyer:
Sometimes Magic is all about multiverse-spanning disasters, like the catastrophic time rifts of the Time Spiral Block. Other times it's about the daily trials of down-to-earth people as they live out their lives on one single plane.
***
Daily Trials of "down to earth people"? just who are they talking about, exactly? _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

5. Cryptic Command
6. Deathrender
7. Faerie Tauntings
