As per the discussion from the Pharagos threads, all character requests should be tackled here, in the general D&D threads. Thus, anyone who needs any help with their PCs - background, race, build, equipment, spell/power selection, whathaveyou - should post here. |

Nah. D&D board still works. This is where character workshops should go, but also magic item workshops, new spell or feat ideas, house rules, etc.
Mainly, I think the delineation should be
D&D thread: Mechanics heavy discussions, brainstorming rules, game balance issues, etc. This should be general mechanical content, though say for a workshop class, you should of course point out campaign specific details and considerations, etc.
Campaign specific threads: Storyline, flavor, history, and RP discussions. This is where you go to check what's up with your campaigns (generally our 3 active Pharagos games). Any proposals by players for the party's consideration, DM announcements, etc, should go here. |

Well, for starters, let me begin.
I'm gonna run another solo campaign for my kid bro. Since it's solo, I think going gestalt won't be such a drag. Anyways, he liked the Bloodstorm Blade I ran as an NPC ally for his barbarian, so he's willing to play one this time. Since the BS Blade is mainly martial, Cleric as the gestalt pair won't be such a bad idea, with all its buffing spells and somesuch. So, here's the build I'm thinking of giving him.
Cloistered Cleric 11/Contemplative 9//Warblade 5/Bloodstorm Blade 4/Exotic Weapon Master 1/Master Thrower 1/Warblade +9
I'm allowing two flaws, so he thought he'd use Exotic Weapon Prof (b-sword) and Weap Focus (b-sword) to use a b-sword + shield combo before going into Bloodstorm Blade mode. Besides, I'm allowing retraining and he thinks he can maximize the Weapon Aptitude of Warblade with Exotic Weap Prof (so he can use practically any weapon in the game). Comments? Suggestions? Violent reactions? |

In solo campaign, leadership is a must. And maybe npcs few levels lower than him so not to steal the glory.
On cleric side, i have nothing against it.
On martial side, why warblade? He would benefit from his high wisdom if he would use swordsage. |

I used Warblade mainly for two things: 1. You need Iron Heart for the Bloodstorm Blade PrC, and 2. the Warblade has the fastest maneuver recovery rate.
Also, I'm not putting Leadership into his tentative build, but he can pick it if he chooses. I've run a solo campaign for him before, and he didn't need it. I tailor the campaign so that he works mostly in the background, sort of an unsung hero. |

How about few levels of Divine oracle? He would get evasion-like ability at second level. Though some abilities would be redundant like uncanny dodge. |

Taking the Skill Focus pre-req of Divine Oracle will cut into the limited feat slots of the build. Besides, a ring of evasion would work just fine. |

Sorry if i keep on asking, but i was thinking of an acrobatic character.. one who tumbles around the battle and striking only at the right time.. i was thinking a rogue or a swashbuckler but i cant think of a prestige class for it, other than Exemplar(Complete Adventurer) and Shadowdancer(DMG).. could you give me other good classes or any suggetion/recommendation about it?

Here are some builds I have in mind. Note that you will have to put your best stat in Dex, as you'll need Dex 17-19 if you want to complete the TWF tree.
Human Scout 3/Swashbuckler 3/Dervish 10/Tempest 4
Feats:
1 - Dodge, Mobility (H)
3 - Combat Expertise
6 - Weapon Focus (any slashing)
9 - Two-Weapon Fighting
12 - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
15 - Spring Attack
18 - Greater Two Weapon Fighting
Fighter 2/Swashbuckler 3/Dervish 10/Occult Slayer 5
Feats:
1 - Dodge, Mobility (F)
2 - Weapon Focus (F)
3 - Combat Expertise
6 - Two-Weapon Fighting
9 - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
12 - Greater Two-Weapon Fighting
15 - Improved Initiative
18 - Improved Toughness
Human Ranger 2/Fighter 4/Dervish 10/Tempest 4
Feats:
1 - Dodge, Mobility (Hmn), Track (Rgr)
2 - Two-Weapon Fighting (Rgr)
3 - Weapon Focus, Combat Expertise (Ftr)
4 - Spring Attack (Ftr)
6 - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting, Weapon Specialization (Ftr)
9 - Melee Weapon Mastery (slashing)
12 - Greater Two-Weapon Fighting
15 - Slashing Flurry
18 - Two-Weapon Rend
Human Psychic Rogue 6/Elocater 1/Psychic Rogue +13
Feats:
1 - Two-Weapon Fighting, Dodge (Human)
3 - Mobility
6 - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
9 - Spring Attack
12 - Bounding Assault, PsyRog Special Ability (Mind Cripple)
15 - Greater Two-Weapon Fighting, PsyRog Special Ability (Up the Walls)
18 - Rapid Blitz, PsyRog Special Ability (Two-Weapon Rend)

Thanks for the suggestion! those are good Combat Acrobat Builds...
I like to use them, but my stats are not good enough for it so that it would go smoothly..
As of know, i'm making a Skillmonkey acrobat charater in Mark's campaign.. Here's the build:
Human Rogue 3/Fighter 2/Streetfighter 4/Thief-Acrobat 5/Exemplar X (Still planning for that one)
Feats:
1 - Dodge, Mobility (H)
2 - Combat Expertise (F) -- Req for Streetfighter
3 - Weapon Finesse
4 - Improve Feint (F) -- Req for Streetfighter
6 - Combat Acrobat
9 - Skill Focus (Tumble) -- Req for Exemplar
12 - 18 -- NO plans yet
hehe, it's not finish yet, because i was wondering if i put the rest of the lvls on exemplar or should i get another prestige.. |

Here's my version of the dervish build:
Scout 3/ Swashbuckler 3/ Fighter 2/ Champion of Corellon 2/ Dervish 10
Feats:
1 - Dodge
3 - Mobility
6 - Weapon Focus (longsword)
9 - Two Weapon Fighting
12 - Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
15 - Improved Initiative
18 - Improved Toughness
Ftr1 - Mounted Combat
Ftr2 - Combat Expertise
CoC 2 - Bounding Assault
It's a good option if you're elven or half-elven, although admittedly, Mounted Combat is almost a dead feat. Still, at ECL 20, all your base saves are GOOD (Fort +13, Ref +11, Will +12). This doesn't include grace and battle fortitude from Swashbuckler and Scout, respectively. |

If ever you're interested in spellcasting while making sneak attacks, here's a build you'd like.
Rogue 2/ Beguiler 3/ Unseen Seer 5/ Daggerspell Mage 10
Although I'd like to start a different thread on this, beacause it seems a fun build after I went through the classes. It's my personal build and I like the build so much!
For further discussion, see my thread.
(For my players, um, I'm sort of hinting here...) |

Noob question: What source book is Unseen seer?
I just thought of this this morning:
Rogue 5/Thief-Acrobat 5/Exemplar 10
hehe... it's a pure skill monkey acrobat it really lacks fighting capabilities but i think skill tricks should be good for this one..
Another Noob question: What happens when you become an outsider(native)? I saw it in Exemplar 10 and Monk 20.. i haven't read about it yet so i thought of asking it here instead.. |

I was actually dwelling on this one. Thinking Spellwarp Sniper(Complete Scoundrel) though.
[b]Spellthief 1/ Sorcerer or Warmage 4/ Magical Trickster 3/ Spellwarp Sniper 5/ ???
Master Spellthief offsets the lost caster level(and lets you steal higher level spells). Able learner might help with skills. Thinking magical trickster(reusable acrobatic backstab) or maybe some other class would work too. |

I believe that (or something similar) is being used in Mark's Eberron campaign. |

Factotum 1/ Bard 19!!!
Taking Bardic Knack instead of Bardic Knowledge (PH II variant), plus Jack-of-All-Trades feat =
I KNOW EVERY SKILL (10 ranks each, as long as untrained)!!! (even True Speak!!)
I haven't found a suited campaign for this build though.. no special fighting capabilities even just pure skill monkey! |

BAB is way too little to hit..
Initiate of 7fold veil works better if used as an abjurer, rather than a gish..
Better get Arcane Strike.. and Persistent Wraith strike .. |

Suel Archanamach is abju-gish, but doesn't continue spellcasting and has its own spell list..
but it's a good PrC, nobody just want to try it yet..
