similar to emman's thread, except here's how we do it:
1) Poster writes down a matchup
2) Someone replies the winner of the matchup, and writes down why
3) The person who replied writes down another matchup
4) Repeat steps 2&3
P.S. If at any time somebody would like to contest somebody else's claim (e.g. Batman could so beat Hulk, because he has infinite resources at his disposal!) simply quote the claim and write your objection. just try to keep the thread going XD
P.S.S. If you think there are some terms, names, etc. that might be unfamiliar to people, link us up some background info.
just to kill some time, I suppose ^^
let's start with...
Who would win: A Gear or an Eva?
First, assume best units (default Xenogears and Unit-01), and best pilots (default Wong Fei Fong and Ikari Shinji, respectively). Neutral ground; no "this is my turf" advantages or anything like that. Take the units at optimum performance.
So, who would win? XD |

Since being the Juggernaut incorporates the armor and the helm, I'd have to go with Superman...er, I meant Juggernaut.

Darna is the major iconic superhero over here, whereas Wonder Woman has to share the spotlight with Superman, Batman, et al. Therefore I'd go with Darna.

I dunno D, so I'm going for Alucard. Besides, Alucard is the only non-Belmont Castlevania PC that I respected.
Since I can't think of anything decent...

Ehem. Anyway... this one is courtesy of Phil, asked at the tambayan:

Elminster. Plus Choses of Mystra template. Hands down.

I would like to contest what boy bakal said about who will win between Megaman and X.
I'd say the original Megaman will win because X is an emo and doesn't want to fight anymore. Plus, megaman has Rush, Beat, Tango and all of his brothers Gutsman, Iceman, Elecman, Fireman, Cutman, Bombman, Protoman and his sister Roll. X only has Zero... Poor Emo X
(But some people claim that Megaman and X are one and the same person so you can't pit them against each other. ) |

Time machine, anyone?
It could happen, and I'd bet my money on Megaman.
*Megaman slides, X charges. i'll take slide anytime.
*Megaman has absorbed more unique abi's (shadow blade, guts strength, etc). X keeps of fighting lame reploids that sort of have the same ability as someone else from an earlier X game (I mean, there's always an Ice guy, Fire guy etc). Megaman's Versatility has a good edge.
*Rush should be considered. Although part of his entourage technically, the mutt is also an in-game weapon. So Mega has Rush. X has no one.
I'm answering my own thread, haha.
Anyway, since it was brought up. Protoman or Zero?
And, Simon Belmont or Strahd? |

I'd put my money on Demogorgon. Although, he'd be working his a** off just beating a generic monster, you'd still wonder at his effectiveness... ![Crying or Very sad](images/smiles/icon_cry.gif) |

Wild guess... Solar. If it had been BVD Demogorgon I might've reconsidered.

Was thinking of this myself. Both aliens, both the strongest beings of their universe (or close to it, since Gohan, Goten et al. could arguably defeat Gokou).
Have to go with Clark on this one. It's highly unlikely that monkey boy can get his hands on some Kryptonite, therefore he simply cannot kill supes. In contrast, Gokou dies normally. Hence, advantage Superman.
Bahamut or Nicol Bolas? |

One orc warrior can't take down a zergling.
A marine can take down a zergling but not two. Sometimes, it takes only a single zergling to take down a marine, depends on tech upgrades.
Using d20 modern as basis, let's assume that the marine's rifle is equivalent to a M60 machine gun. That is 2d10 points of damage per bullet, average of 11 points.
It takes many bullets to take down a zergling, either in play or in cinematics.
A marine can be considered as the soldier prestige class of modern. Mean many HD and hp. Yet it goes down with few hits from a zergling.
An orc warrior only has 5 hp. It will go down with one shot from a marine. Likewise, it will go down with few hits from a zergling. An orc warrior can not kill a zergling even with a crit.
A zergling is more than an orc warrior.
And you are talking 10,000 of it.
Drizzt will be ignored by the zerglings and killed by stampede. |

Hmm. Tough call. God Vs Planeswalker. Offhand, I'd side with Bahamut. He keeps his own posse of Great Wyrms with him, and within the Prime Material, he probably has more raw power to throw.
Now, if you use M:tG's cosmology, Nicol Bolas should try to bring the battlefield to the Blind Eternities, where, if I remember correctly, gods have no power. A difficult or unlikely proposition at best. I believe advantage goes to Bahamut.
We are talking about the Platinum Dragon Bahamut, right? Not the Mesopotamian Bahamut or FF's Bahamut? ![Razz](images/smiles/icon_razz.gif) |

Well, Drizz't does not have Starcraft tech, doesn't he? Not even a little spellcasting... If Drizz't has weapons from Starcraft, then I suppose he can adapt quite suitably to defeat those zerglings. |

Then again, Darkseid has the Anti-Life Equation, and Marvel has conclusively shown that for all his power, Thanos is still a mortal, and is subject to death (and therefore Anti-Life), even though Marvel's Death has the hots for Thanos. |

As for the Protoman versus Zero argument: I'd go with the good old Z here (sorry Protoman ) As per canon, Protoman is a very unstable robot and could blow up anytime, plus his only cool tricks are his shield and his whistle (his whistle does nothing except to sound cool).
Zero, on the other hand, is one of Dr. Wily's greatest inventions made to thwart Megaman and is the actual carrier of the Maverick Virus plus he has all that cool sword moves. It's actually more fun to play Zero than X most of the time.
Thumbs up for Zero.

On one hand, Conan will not be the only tough guy that Battousai beat. Kenshin is too fast for Conan. Though if Conan somehow survives all of Kenshin's tricks (say he's a frenzied berserker), he'd wrangle the life out of him. So.... aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!
My money's on the barbarian. He'd sunder Kenshin's sword and break his body in two. ![Twisted Evil](images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif) |
