Monster Slayers: Heroes of Hesiod
Wizards of the Coast has announced a new D&D game for gamer parents who want to get their younglings playing RPGs before they graduate from kindergarten. Monster Slayers: Heroes of Hesiod is being targeted at kids 6 and up, but is supposedly not going to be a mind-numbing experience for the parents and adults who will be playing with their offspring. In fact, the website for it says:
"Monster Slayers: The Heroes of Hesiod isn’t just for kids. It’s also a fun diversion for experienced players who need their D&D fix but don’t have the time for a full-length game. Or share it with your non-gamer family and friends who claim to be intimidated by the rules of the game. It won’t be long before they’re hooked on the game you love!"
So I'm guessing this is going to be a very newbie friendly, faster version of D&D.
Oh, and the best part about this? It's absolutely free - you can download it as PDF from the link I gave you.

Definitely a good idea.
But should I be scared that I developed the terrible urge to go and have kids after reading the PDF? Even if it means 5-7 years before I can actually play this with my offspring???

the timing of this topic is actually surprising, because I was thinking if someone already made something like "a parent guide to letting your kids play DnD".

i tried this game with my sisters, wanting to get them into RPGs....
and now they want me to design new characters and monsters for Heroes of Hesiod.
