The idea that came up is videoke. Now to discuss a when and where.

For a where, I propose Redbox at Trinoma. Please, not Pork Barrel. I didn't much like it the first time. @_@

But, I haven't been to Redbox myself, though... so anyone else have any suggestions?

On the when... well, I'm good for any time (except for the occassional event, and of course not working hours), and since a lot of HGC alumni are working peeps, we should probably schedule like, a Friday night or Saturday night.

Thoughts?

We don't necessarily have to drink there. After we've sung our guts out, we can move to somewhere else for serious drinking, right? Razz

(But possibly buy some beer for courage and talent there.)

Oh, and is it okay if I bring along some friends? The girls in my barkada have been bugging me to drag them to videoke, and I'm too lazy to organize one on my own.

I do not speak for the whole but I do not mind...

BTW, were you at starbucks technohub the other day?

I've actually been to Redbox Trinoma. When we got there they were fully booked so I think making a reservation would be prudent if that's the route we're going. The rooms aren't too big though, I think when we went there there were 17 of us and we were already pretty crowded (some people had to stand, others had to sit on the floor, etc). I know the org numbers can easily top 20 people so idk, but I guess just keep that number in mind.

As I recall for the 2-3 hour stay it cost us about 150 pesos each, but I could ask around the office for a more accurate/comprehensive price breakdown.

Actually, I have something to recommend: Bagoong Club in QC. Highly recommended place, ranges from 200-300 on food. It's like gourmet Ilocano dishes plus more. They serve beer and desserts, too. Reservations accepted, and the ambiance is Old Hispanic-Filipino. There won't be any videoke, though. I'm just adding to the options.

Another suggestion: let's cook food at someone's place. Others who don't cook must bring food somehow, potluck style.

Cooking at someone else' place sounds nice. The plus side is we don't have to pay an hourly rate, we can get high with booze and geekiness with no retort.

I'm actually more for mnightsilver's idea, too. But it still leaves the question of whose house. @_@

Well, I was supporting the timing.

What will we do, karaoke night or house party?

Timing is post Lantern Parade. We still need to decide on nature and place.

If it's a house party, I can nominate my place, but as people have had trouble navigating our area in the past, if anyone suggests other places, that'd probably work as well.

What's the date of lantern parade? I thought it was 16? When I suggested after lantern parade I meant the day when lantern parade would be held, not after the day.

Anyway, please finalize the date. And place.

Place...? Yikes. So far, we only have Rev's place. T_T

There's also my place. As long as its pot luck (aka I don't need to feed you), my place has all the space you'd need. I can even run an impromptu 4e game for the overnight-ers.

On the minus side, our karaoke songs are 70s-80s, and are mostly by Sharon or Nora. >.> Also, unless your car squeezing skills are GAR, there are no viable parking slots for the automobile-bound.

Hmm, well, it's close enough on my front, so I'm good with that as well.
