Got this via e-mail from the AEGIS mailing list:

Quote:
"'Tis a grove-circled dwelling
Set close to a hill,

Where the branches are telling
Strange legends of ill;

Over timbers so old
That they breathe of the dead,

Crawl the vines, green and cold;
By strange nourishment fed..."

-- H.P. Lovecraft

Arkham Philippines is pleased to present CTHULHUFEST 2009, featuring films based on or inspired by the master of gothic horror, H.P. Lovecraft.

Date: November 21, 2009

Time: 6:00 pm

Venue: "Matimyas House of Horror" - GF/1688 M.H. del Pilar St., Malate, Manila

Here's the schedule and brief descriptions of the films to be shown:

QUATERMASS & THE PIT - 6:00 pm
Starring James Donald, Andrew Keir, and Barbara Shelley.
Directed by Roy Ward Baker

The legendary film studio Hammer Films is back in business, and we celebrate its return by presenting one of its most acclaimed productions.

Something horrific is happening in London and its environs: seemingly rational people are perpetrating hideous acts of violence. Professor Bernard Quatermass theorizes a connection between the strange developments and the recently unearthed remains of an alien vessel. But he is unable to convince skeptical authorities about the danger, and must confront the horror on his own.

---BREAK---( 7:30 pm)

THE DUNWICH HORROR - 9:00 pm
Starring Dean Stockwell, Sandra Dee, and Ed Begley
Directed by Daniel Haller

Adapted by Curtis Hanson ("The Hand That Rocks the Cradle", "L.A. Confidential" ) from the short story by H.P. Lovecraft. Dunwich is a decaying backwoods town whose residents keep a sinister secret. When an innocent traveler unwittingly finds herself stranded in the horrid place, she quickly becomes a hostage to the insidious plans of feared Dunwich wizard Wilbur Whateley, and sets in motion a series of events that may well culminate in the appearance of an ancient evil on Earth.

PICKMAN'S MODEL (from Rod Serling's Night Gallery) - 10:30 pm
Starring Bradford Dillman, Louise Sorel
Directed by Jack Laird

PROFESSOR PEABODY'S LAST LECTURE (from Rod Serling's Night Gallery)
Starring Carl Reiner
Directed by Jonathan Freedman

Submitted for your approval, two stories of the macabre and the otherworldly. In PICKMAN'S MODEL, a secretive artist wins the affections of an apprentice, but does he dare reveal to her the inspiration for his hideous paintings? And in PROFESSOR PEABODY'S LAST LECTURE, a skeptic mocks the Great Old Ones and pays the price.

THE MIST - 11:25 pm
Starring Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Andre Braugher
Directed by Frank Darabont

Based on the novella by Stephen King. In the aftermath of a violent thunderstorm, a town is enveloped by an eerie mist. At first, the experience is a bewildering one for the townsfolk, but confusion soon gives way to terror as the denizens of the mist make their presence known...

DIRECTIONS - How to get to "Matimyas House of Horror": It's beside Figaro, which is beside Landbank, Diamond Hotel and Magsaysay Center. It's near the Pedro Gil intersection - 4 blocks away from LRT Pedro Gil; 2 blocks from Robinson's Malate.

Best routes: If you're going by LRT: Pedro Gil. Walk all the way to
MH DEL PILAR (toward Roxas) then turn left. Keep walking and you'll
see Figaro after a block. Sam's place is beside it.

If you're going by jeep: take any jeep going Mabini or the closest to
Pedro Gil/Mabini/or Taft. Get down at Figaro after Diamond Hotel and
Landbank Bldg.

If you're going by car: take Roxas Boulevard. It has the least
traffic. Look for Diamond Hotel, Magsaysay Center (the building with
columns) then turn and find your way into MH del pilar. It's a one-
way road. You'll eventually see Figaro. Sam's building is beside it.

If The Thing at the Doorstep (house security) inquires about your
visit, just say you're a guest of Samuel Tan...

Are you guys going? Let me know if you are, I'll tag along to introduce you to the Arkhamites. And point out which ones to avoid on the Black Sabbath.
