*snicker* seize the bull by the horns *snicker*
But yeah, b_b's right. Bottom line is, everything is up to you. How bout this: The real secret behind getting what you want is PERSUASION. People get what they want because they are good at persuasion.
Here's my rant... See the latest announcements.
(Should this be announced in another thread? I don't want to...)
GRAH!
From my fave teacher, Ma'am Cla: "My principle in life is not to blame anybody."
Point taken painfully... |

*looks at HGC announcements*
@mnightsilver: I'm tempted to go nuts and get angry about this too. But goddamn :consored: it all to hell, we've been over this ground before. If the members won't get things running, then that's it. I want to get angry, but if that's it, that's it, give it a dignified death rather than letting it run around like a damned zombie.
Or everyone else can prove me wrong. Either way works for me. If it's time to go, go. It's one thing to defend a circle from external attack, it's another thing entirely when it crumples from rot within. |

And that's what I'm going to say if it all comes to that. I've grown tired like an old man because of HGC. I should be happily youthful and carefree. Seriously, at first, I'm doing this because I want to. And then because I have friends here. And then it became in the sake of. It saddens me. Truly, it does.
I don't want things to go awry in my account. This is the last reason I have for holding on. Because, really, friends come a longer way than the org. ![Confused](images/smiles/icon_confused.gif) |

First thing: that rant wasn't about HGC. I can't recall a single time where a power struggle happened here. *remembers the games of jak-en-poi to select the sec-gen*
@mnightsilver: In a way, this current state of affairs happened because of responsible, driven members like mnightsilver. Like it or not, free rider scenarios like this happen because someone is there to take up the slack.
IMO this situation happened because the org failed to evolve past games. If you like the game, join HGC. And if you drop the game, quit. Or something like that. There is no motivation, no desire to see the org grow. In the few years I've been with the org, I can't remember any activities done other than to meet the requirements for renewal. We just play our little games at the tambayan, nothing more. And so, it's extremely easy to just let the org go. If you stop playing the game and quit the org, what will you actually lose? You can always meet your friends outside of the org. And that supposes you had friends in the org. I remember one new member who just disappeared when he quit Magic.
Admittedly, that is the reason why I became a TO. Because if people stop playing, especially if they're new, there's a big chance of them leaving. But apart from that feeble excuse, I've done nothing. Blame my apathetic nature. |

Q: Strangely q, that actually makes you one of the group actually doing effective :consored:. . And thanks for that, dude, because your actions, selfish, apathetic, or whatever, actually helped.
And that is as much a fault of the org as well as you pointed out. |

Done. As stated, org ranting goes here, where it can be read along with official org business. Org stuff should go here, rather than having to run off to a different location to find out what's going on in the org. Do with it what you will. |
