I can live with most of the new changes, but I can't accept combat damage not using the stack. It changes current gameplay so radically that I'm convinced it'll be a whole new game post-M10.

Nice guess there Q. Exile is there, as well as cast.

I like the new deathtouch though, but the 'no damage stacking' is a big change, IMO. That's actually one of my favorite distinct rules of M:tG from other TCGs

Wizards just reduced the complexity of the game to accommodate the newer players. So veteran players like us will have to give up some of the tricks we've been accustomed to. But if it keeps Magic alive, I don't particularly mind -- as long as they don't change Magic to the point where it becomes Yu-Gi-Oh. Personally, I'm waiting on Zendikaar before considering quitting; if the rumors of the Pirates and Dinosaurs block is true, I'm shifting to L5R.

I think that any game that has lasted as long as Magic has needs updates to keep it fresh and playable, especially since all games need new players to survive.

Likewise, us L5R players are waiting to see what rules revamp occur. It's no joke when people say that L5R is one of the very few mainstream CCGs more complicated than Magic.

I think the rules change would adversely affect the ones who were using the stack to deal combat damage. well, if it's for the love of game, I think I'll still be playing Magic post-M10.

As for the mana burn rule completely removed...NOOOOO!!!

I couldn't save my pride being defeated by a single swing of numerous creatures (or worst, a 1 damage ping from Cinder Pyromancer). It's my form of losing the game in Magic Razz
