Okay, so I finally decided to get these two books, and mostly, I like what I see. This is by no means official yet, but offhand, I'm thinking:
*Adventurer's Vault is a Player Resource
Basically the 4e Magic item Compendium, this item is likewise filled with so much information, it's hard to digest in one sitting. Some old favorites like the double weapons return, as well as tons of new ones. Wishlists will become much more varied for sure.
*Forgotten Realms Player's Guide is open, with Restrictions
-Swordmage, Dark Pact, Spellscarred are all open.
-All regional-related stuff are closed. This includes all PP's that have regional requirements (regional names in PP's are fine, and you may still appeal for the use of certain PP's for the approval of the tech team).
-All deity-specific stuff are closed. this includes all PP's that have "must worship FR god X" as a requirement. (you may still appeal for the use of certain PP's for the approval of the tech team. Chosen ED is definitely closed)
-Drow and Genasi (plus any related PP's and feats) are closed until the fluff team advises the tech team otherwise.
There are some balance issues with FR, but so far, I don't see anything too strong. (ie, Elven Precision and Wild Elf Luck apparently do stack, but then, that's two feats). The restrictions are more flavor-related than mechanically-inclined.
Thoughts? |

Just so you know, spellscared related stuff isn't allowed in RPGA campaigns, though I don't know the reason. (Haven't read the books yet)
Will be purchasing the books soon. Got to see me those awesome new items |

There's a pretty strong ability regarding a Blood Mage and a Spellscarred power that slides an opponent about 15 squares. Otherwise, the Spellscars don't strike me as... special?
I find it weird, though, hat LFR itself doesn't allow it. Maybe it deserves a second look. |

I'm not sure, but probably RP reasons. |

Crap. I need to re-evaluate AV, if only for the sudden arrival of the Orb of Ultimate Imposition.
That's just... sad. A lot of things in the book would have been cool. |

Darn, just thought of a good build for Ghost of Eventide. lol
and Simbarch of Aglarond as well.
Silverstar PP art is the Magical Trickster!! (from complete scoundrel) used art is used
ADD: Blade Initiate isn't what we thought it would be
Also, a question:
Let's say your a Wandering Swordmage PP, and your 16th level (gaining Learn from Experience ability). During an encounter, a creature scores a critical hit to you, twice. Does the bonus given by the Learn from Exp stack? |

Well, someone could quote it, and answer it there.
Or I can repost it there, thus giving me 1 more post. |
