The +1 benefits are not really a problem for me. But the ones that give a +3 bonus (that could potentially stack with feats) bother me, especially with regards to the lowered, errata'd skill challenges.

When characters pass skill challenges on a 1, that invalidates the very exercise of engaging in it, IMO.

I particularly like the Warsmith background. Limited Ritual Casting works. I also see the former gladiator and mercenary backgrounds to be cheesed by Emman types like crazy.

Here's the plan: Vote on it's inclusion/non-inclusion in a week. Until the voting time, discuss whether or not we should include this as a resource.

All COPALS are eligible to vote, of course.

I won't vote for now, I want to hear all (if possible) its pros and cons.

I'm don't particularly dislike the benefits (a +1 bonus is a bonus!) but it's all for free (as Revan pointed out in the other thread), which could possibly used for cheezy builds (never fails on *insert high modifier skill* check).

Maybe we should give it requirements then? Or possibly quest rewards?

I was actually about to allow it as an rp reward, too, until I realized that awarding a player for present rp with a "backstory" benefit seemed kind of...
