This is personally a matter of some concern. You only really become aware of :consored: like this and the issues that come up when weird and downright stupid bullshit like this little bill come up.
Read it. It's nucking futts stupid, too damned loose, and penalizes too many things.
I need to vent spleen on this one, but I'll be reading it fully first before I unleash the full depths of my rage.

As someone who hails from Fine Arts, I am no stranger to nudity as an "art form". So basically, this tells me I can't do nude photography exhibits in the future cuz if some prudish [insert expletive] gets offended, I could get prosecuted for it.
In the advertising world, it's a fact that "Sex sells." But pinoy commercials/ad aren't very well-known for subtlety.
I doubt this bill will be taken seriously, though. (I mean, there's an obscure law saying you can't wear the image of Philippine flag on your persona. And people still get away with it.) |

It makes sense to pass this bill, being that we're such a "Christian" country.
This, strangely, reminds me of that old org or some such in UP. It was about, I dunno, animal rights or something like that. Yeah, let's talk about the rights of cats and dogs while people are effin' starving in the streets.  Way to focus, guys. |

What really gets me riled up is the definitions section really.
(Emphasis mine)

Nothing about artistic nudity. Skin is obscene. Talking about sex is obscene. Hell, according to number 5, any form of sex is by definition obscene.  ye bloody gods and little bleeding dieties.

Regardless of what you were up to, as long as somebody objects, its porn...and you'll be criminally liable.
Realistically speaking, this waste of paper has little to no chance of getting past the Senate. What's got me ticked is that it actually got that far. Still....rage. |
