as I said, I'll try to confirming that, unless other people have done it before..

apparently the 25% innate resistance (from the Hero type of armor) + 60% resistance (from spell shield) will give him a strong magic resistance.. but i haven't tried giving him HoD..

But no matter how much resistance you get, you are still targetable, therefore you are still prone to stun, slow effects and other disabling skills..

Since magic resistance doesn't stack when it comes from the same source, for example HoD and Planeswalker's Cloak (it takes the higher value of the two), it really won't. For Magina, he MUST get HoD first before his spell shield for it to stack. For innate magic resistance: it is not really 25%, but a little lower. the best way to try is to use magic missle (vengeful spirit) on an enemy hero at level 1. Does 100 magic damage, should be the perfect test for a default spell resistance. But well, you're right... SR for Magina would be high... And I succumb and apologize to HoD fans... my mathcraft was wrong the first time...

Ok, here it goes...

Magina with Hood Only: 47.5% (Which translates to any hero having the Hood of Defiance...)
Magina with Spell Shield [4] Only: 55%
Magina with Hood and Spell Shield properly stacked: 68.5%

Translating into Bolt [4] Damage:
Any Hero with Hood: 184 damage
On Magina with SS [4] only: 158 damage
On Magina with SS [4] and HoD: 110 damage

It's not a sorcery. It's a skill. He meant he failed his mathcraft check earlier. Very Happy

Microsoft Excel for the win! We stat majors actually dedicate a lot of our time mastering that software...

Mathcraft +20 for me when using excel!

Anyway, so Magina can shrug off most spells with HoD. So what if he's not immune? That's practically immunity there if he can recover quick from 110 damage. So in the late game, Zeus will be unable to even hurt Magina. That's just sad. But in the early game, Zeus will just eat Magina's life away, if he has mana, that is..

Bolt's cooldown is about 7 seconds... If Magina is level 25 and has Vanguard + HoD + double CBashers, with the proper stacking of HoD and SS [4] then the residual damage of Bolt [4] before the second one would be:

110 damage - 7*HPR/s.

Regeneration from Str + base: 2.26 HP/sec (Base HP regen is 0.25/s + 0.03 per point of Str)
Vanguard: 4 HP/sec
HoD: 8 HP/sec

Total HP Regeneration: 14.26 HP/sec
Total HP Regeneration in 7 seconds: 14.26*7= 99.82 HP
Remaining Damage to Magina after Bolt [4]= 110 - 99.82 = 10.18 damage Shocked
Total damage of 3 of Zeus' nukes piled one after the other (Bolt, Arc, Wrath with Agha, Plus all 3 Static Field triggering): 479 damage (29% of Magina's HP).

And I didn't take Tarrasque into account, which will gives better regeneration...

BTW, Magina's HP for the sample build is 1673.

Immunity is different from resistance..
Resistance will shrug of the damage, but no the disable effects such as stun, sleep, etc.. plus immunity makes you "untargetable" which is good and bad at different situations..

It doesn't, but the actual damage would decrease dramatically. Against a Magina, Hex + spell focus fire = death, even at late game, since all your spells would deal full damage, and prevents him from escaping for a full 4 seconds. However, Pudge + HoD = serious trouble. Pudge is highly magic resistant and a strength hero to boot (very high HP and regen), and will make you cry when he hooks you down and eat you.
