Posted: Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:08 pm Post subject: Pharagos Changes |
|
There's been talk about this for a while now... Pharagos is going to encounter lots of changes over the next few months. When we're done, in fact, I don't even think we'll be calling the plane "Pharagos" anymore...
This thread, then, will focus on the general changes within our beloved campaign setting...
So, let me start with: Revan, what are the names that we need to change? We'll try to come up with name ideas ourselves, won't we, guys?
Also, what are the cosmic principles that we are adopting? So far, core DnD deities are in, as are mandrakori chess pieces. How about the cosmic entities? If we're going to make them official (and if we're making a pdf), then what stats should we give them? CR estimates? So far, only me and the goderator have voiced CR concerns for Orcus and their ilk. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Changes to the beloved Pharagos... It sure is a good idea. Maybe I'll post something on this board once I get the time for it. Anyways, could anyone post up a "world map" of Pharagos? _________________ Master Wayne, you've just been PWNED! |

will see what I can do about a map soon as well as a broad list of names that need to change. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

That'll be greatly appreciated.
In particular, I'm curious as to what Vrahn's new surname will be. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Updates Revan?
The map is secondary. But, I would sure appreciate the names-to-be-changed list ASAP... _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Basic name changes required:
Countries:
-Selentine Empire (Imperial Roman theme)
-Elenia, Bartonia, Siria (Medieval Europe, along the Anglo-Saxon and Germanic lines)
-Lysean Republic (Mercantile Republic loosely based on renaissance Italy and the old Republic)
-Silvermyr
-Al-diraq Imperium: Middle-Eastern feel, occupied by assimilationist Gith
Pharagos itself may also need a name change as it was originally based off Dungeon 100.
Personalities:
-Tiber Septim (Name taken from Elder Scrolls series)
-The Targaryen Dynasty (Blue-dragonblooded. Name taken from George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire. Tentative change to the Tragaryen)
-Mandrakaor the Ressurector/Kelborn
-Dengar (Both taken from Star Wars)
More to follow. As for the map, to follow as well. It's a busy sem on my end. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Tragaryen sounds nice... but hmm, it still sounds too close...
Gah, I'm out of ideas at the moment... _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

maybe we could change it entirely. something that highlights the Targaryen blue dragon heritage? off the top of my head, something like Azudar/Azidar... basically just mixing up and scrambling azul and dragon. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

Yes, it's a good idea... Also, if I'm going to build from scratch, I can now incorporate Arcania's Egyptian feel on the name. (When we came up with Targaryen, Arcania's ethnic feel had not been determined yet) _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |
