This part of the board is UPHGC only. Meaning even if non-org member became a member of this board, this forum is exclusive to the org. Members and alumni can access this forum. I'm yet to decide if org applicants are to be able to access this forum. You can posts announcements, updates, and any meta-org related stuff here. Any discussions regarding Magic, d20, and other stuff should go to the appropriate forum. Thank you very much. |

As per Tope's statements earlier in the GA, he wants to keep the board Members only as much as possible. |

He's SecGen, not emperor. (wait, that didn't sound right) :p No personal offense meant to Tope...
What I mean to say is, too much isolationism may be detrimental for the org. We want exposure, don't we? I say (this is just me talking) we open up the thread, since we have a UP HGC only forum overt here anyway... |

When I did this board, I have both UPHGC and non-UPHGC people in mind. At first, I also thought of making this exlusive to the org but we have so much to gain. New friends, new board members, new people. That means new insights on who or what the hell Lady of Pain is. New people to discuss Star Wars universe with. New people that you could trade cards with. Maybe those people are also looking for us. Searching for life forms beside from theirs.
That's one of the reasons why I want the boards to be decent and of high standards.
Yes folks, new people. This is one way I could think of expanding the ideals of the org. As I said, we have so much to gain here. What have we got to lose? Nothing! If someone wants to say something exlusive only to the org, the board has a place for that. Making this exlusive to the org, on top of that our interests are elite for many people, will bring minimal advantages. This is a new way of establishing new contacts.
Bottom line of my point is: To meet other people.
That point is as valid as the reason we made the org. We made the org so we could communicate, meet, and befriend other people with same interests us ours. My stand is that this board be open to non-UPHGC.
I don't think I made a move againsts the org. My intentions are all valid, save perhaps that I want the org to meet other people outside of UP.
To give Tope the benefit of the doubt, I don't think he knows what this board is and what it can do.
I also is only an asst secgen to the org. Though it is possible that the org decides to make this a UPHGC only board I would have no choice but to abide. To any of you who can read this, have a position ready. |

i say we open up the boards' guts and feast on the still warm entrails within... uhh, whoops, wrong thread!
what i meant to say was, let's open up these boards... and our hearts. ahaha. seriously though, i'd prefer that the board be open to everybody. if you guys want, we can always give UP HGC members certain board privileges, etc., but overall i think there is much more to gain from allowing non-mems to register. |

I think its a good idea to open it up since this is not the official group for the org. Its also a good way of advertising the org to other people |

Hey you!! what did you mean with what you said. I don't promote isolationism or anything. I only want org stuff to be only kept for the org. And this is a forum which is so much different from a the groups. Next time keep comments to yourself, smart ass!!!! |

hey i commend you for creating the forums. Yes expansion is a good thing. I do know what this board is for and what good it could do. And please don't assume that i always think the same way for everything, i have different points of view for every other thing that comes in the way so please stop assuming. That goes for everybody who thinks the same way. |

Hey, no need to flamewar each other like that. Exceptionally bad nettiquete. In the future, try to keep it civil in forums, and stick to PMs if you want to personally comment on what somebody said. Keep in mind this is probably not the best place to start a flame, and that anything that you write is open for all to see.
Nettiquete. |

Sorry if for the verbal assault pero sana before anyone says anything think about what you are saying. nakakapikon lang kasi. yung sinabi ni phil to what i said in the meeting that was just a suggestion not an order. To bj, sorry if i attacked you but you shouldn't talk about me that way if you have something to say to me then tell it to me straight to the face,ok?? |

that's alright. although flaming is forbidden on these boards it's okay for now, just try to refrain from doing so in the future.
you do make a good point, though, in that we all need to be very careful what we choose to say on these forums, since they're kept on the net and posted for posterity... forever. or until we run out of bandwidth, or something. hehe.
anyway, i say we let this go for now and agree not to flame each other in the future. arguing is fine, of course, but let's all try our best to be respectful and such and such, mmkay?
besides, as far as the internet is concerned, we should be helping one another by flaming other people that we, as a collective, despise, and not fighting amongst ourselves, yeah? hahaha... |

i'm sure it's pretty safe to say that from now on we won't be assuming more than we have to regarding other people's posts... of course, that is just an assumption, so... hey, uhh, i think i just contradicted myself. so, um, so never mind, i guess... -___- |

Before we leave this uncomfortable topic, let me say my piece...
The comment was meant to be in jest. now that I'm rereading it, I understand Tope for being upset. What I said was distasteful. I apologize.
At the time (this was more than a month ago...?), Tope didn't want the thread to be open to all. I disareed. That's all. I didn't think I'd actually offend Dark Axis.
Again, I apologize. I could have expressed my disagreement in a better way. But I did say that I meant no personal offense. I didn't say you promoted isolationism. I just said that should we close this to outsiders, then it'd be a move towards isolationism. I can see that we both agree that that is bad for us.
I will not keep comments to myself. I want my opinions heard, because I believe I have the interests of UP HGC in mind. And I will not attack you indirectly. If I am keeping some personal things against you, I will tell you directly. In your face. Not through the msg boards. Like everyone, I may disagree with the way you run things from time to time. But keep in mind that I do not have beef with you.

That goes for you, too. I did not verbally assault you. I do not do that to friends, much less to a best friend that I've been with for the better part of four years.
But if you think I did, I did not mean to. I am sorry. So don't do the same to me.
And I accept you apology.
Now, this is leaving a bad aftertaste. Can we all forget about this? |

Should we open up Forum access to the apps? I don't remember what we setup last app period. I want to make sure whatever stuff we do is on the level.
If we do give Applicants access, then we should have a separate Applicant usergroup, and possibly an Applicants-only sub-forum. That way, applicants can take advantage of at least some of the resources we've posted up here. Besides, the boards could use some fresh blood. |

I answered this to Revan via ym. On applicants-only sub-forum, that can do sir. |

I vote Apps-only forum, or maybe someone put up an apps thread. I don't know about giving them access to HGC forum, but well, there aren't any need-to-know basis bits of info there yet, so I suppose if we're taking that leap we ought to do it now. |

But, shouldn't we be allowed to post on said apps thread? For announcements, important stuff, etc? |

We can use the Usergroups feature to custom-tailor access.
Currently we have a UPHGC usergroup that allows us access to all forums, as opposed to an unregistered guest user who has access only to part of the forums. We can setup an Applicants' usergroup that gives access to everything except the HGC internal affairs section, and also gives them access to an Apps only forum (Still not sure whether we should have an App moderator for their forum, or whether we just stick to unlimited Forum Mod access).
Gradation of access:
Unregistered Guest: minimum access, no posting rights
Registered User (No Group): Access, (may post where? non-RPG section only?)
Registered Applicant: Access and posting rights to all save HGC section. Access to App section
Registered HGC: Access and post rights to all save App section.
Registered Mod: Access, post, and edit rights to everything. |
