For all of you WOW TCG players out there!
For the longest time, UP has always been the seat of the best. We ARE the best of the best.
The time has come for us to prove that again.
Boys, dapat unti-unti na tayong magparamdam sa national scene. ANd there's no better way to sharpen your swords and arrows than through regular BATTLEGROUND (formerly Hobby League) events.
For those interested for some fun and prizes, we are thinking of having regular BATTLEGROUND tourney's in UP. We'd like to open ourselves for suggestions regarding time, date, format, prizes, etc. Tho by default, starting format is lazy peon and prizes would be sealed boosters of TDP or HOA. But we need to know when and how you'd want it!

It seems that most of our WoW tcg regulars are not online very often.
But I want to tell you that we are very interested and I heard someone proposing sponsoring or hosting tourneys.
I will talk to the incoming execom regarding this matter.  |

| Thanks guys, actually i would be willing to host the tourneys so there won't be any probs there. And i forsee even ateneo players going to our schoo if magiging regular ito.. In fact may mga nagtatanong na. I don't know, but maybe this can even be an avenue para magkaron ng ateneo hobby gamers club or somethng... |

AdMU HGC? Who knows?
I like the idea of setting up a regular tourneys.
1. How regular? Weekly? Bi-Monthly? Monthly?
2. What will it take to set it up?
3. Where?
4. Anyone know the official requirements for setting up an event like this? Do we do this as a formal event, or our own little indie thing?

i say we start with indie things first, then move up to formal.
eventually, maybe we could even have weeklong TCG tourneys, varying games per day. something of that sort... but that's a bit far away, methinks

Guys just reminding all of you that the Tambayan is not yet officially ours by university rules so if you want tourneys you need an appropriate venue and a legal one. plus if you do want this to happen don't just make it happen with words but with actions,ok? Expansion is good but it is not an easy path to take. well technically someone from UP manila ask if they could build a chapter but did not follow up after some time. just want to advise take things one step at a time ok?

Seriously though, in conjunction with this, we should really start re-discussing the org house. It'd be useful for things like this. For now, though... maybe we could rent rooms/places in UP? Alumni Center, for example, or even Balay Kalinaw.

Great news for all of us! We just held our first unofficial Battlegrounds for WOW TCG at the CURSOR tambayan at d 3rd floor. There were 5 of us who played and we had 2 rounds of round-robin matches.
This implies several things:
1) One of the players was an ateneo student who just graduated. So insofar as getting along, we didn't have much of a problem. I think the game itself would act as a glue
2) I agree, we should go indie first, but the great thing is, one of the CURSOR members is an official judge, so anytime we can make it regular, pwede na nating gawing official ang mga results
3) The tambayan of CURSOR is available to us. Tho it will take some adjustments when regular school time arrives. But with all of us working together, its doable.
4) My suggestion is a bi-weekly regular tourney, kahit di masyadong malaki. one day sa CURSOR tambayan, one day sa Hobby Org (if pwede). Suggested format is lazy peon (walang rares) for 1 day, and full constructed on another.

I've talked to Phil and he really wants to make this happen. Maybe we could hold a few sample tourneys on the side and hold one big event later in the sem? If you have any of the details already planned out, please do mention them here. Oh, and also, if ever you all want to make this an inter-org event, Phil says he's good to go with that.

Hi guys!
I'm encouraged by interest. As for details, actually i;ve got a few in mind. I've already mentioned some of them in my previous post.
We can hold a few "trial" tourneys at CURSOR starting next week. Monday and Thursday sounds good days to play. I can host the tourney and sponsor the prices. I could also provide rules judging. Entry can either be 50 or 100, depending on how many packs you guys would want to open.
As for it being inter-org. We already have plans to advertise the WOW TCG to all the orgs by giving them posters and stuff that mention our regular tourneys. Pero kailangan nga maging regular muna sila.
As for a sem-ender, hopefully through this, by the end of the sem, there are enough of us playing to warrant a UP-wide "regionals" event.
But as w/ all journeys, this must start w/ the first step. And the most important one that will really kick this off is the regular bi-weekly tourneys.
