yeah, should be, i think. DotA is something of a culture really, much like CS was back in the day.

so, yeah, since it's already here, i'm thinking we should make this the DotA thread. post DotA-related stuff here.

DotA is a warcraft custom game, so there should at least be a subsection dedicated to it. If you push it, you could even construct a section dedicated to all DotA subtopics example: a thread for each hero; usage, equips, builds, etc.

Everything about WC3 goes in this forum. Threads can be made about builds, discussions, etc. Feel free to create a thread specific to a hero build. Create a thread for each hero including tactics and counter-tactics and stuff. Subforum is not possible here and even if it was possible, creating a subforum dedicated for DotA would leave the main forum with little posters.

I was playing against bots and got killed by a melee enemy. I got stunned by the first hit and never recovered (or recovered but stunned again and again and again) Evil or Very Mad and i think it was because of the items the enemy was using. What could those items be? ...

The only bluish boar I can think of is Barathrum, but I don't recall him having a white cape. But, if he were the hero in question, then it's his Greater Bash skill, without question. The stun on that thing lasts a looong time as far as perma-stuns go, and it's very painful for paper-thin heroes.

as far as i know there are only two sources of bash: skill and basher.
i think they do. yeah... they do. but if you will create bash two is enough because the third one won't stack so it will be useless save for the additional damage.

I believe some sources stack, while others don't (or are kinda useless together). Case in point, Barathrum's Greater Bash plus MKB's mini-bash. If you hit a creep with Greater Bash, there is a chance that the mini-bash will trigger too, but then, that doesn't really help if it does since the other guy can't move anymore anyway.

Hmm. 6.39. I don't buy the fact that heroes can earn money while they're away from battle. Like when creeps topple a tower or a teammate kills an opponent.

And Dazzle, while not being powerful in terms of raw strength, can get really annoying with his resu-like skill. However, Meepo's an interesting character, but it takes a lot to manage all four them properly. Like not dying, for starters.

I tried playing DotA with a buncha guys at the American College here. I got that Inverse lass that floats around in a cute see-thru. I also got my ass handed to me on a platter. LaughingLaughingLaughingLaughing

On the bright side, they tried to cheer me up. Said sumthin like I just need time to get used to the system. Well, that said, I'm definitely digging WoW more than DotA. The gameplay is very much akin to D&D, something I'm a lot more familiar with. Wink

I'm not sure. I didn't look much into the classes (I've only played twice, mind you), but I'd reckon I saw a mounted knight. Maybe a paladin.

hehehehe rip offs are not new nowadays. let's just say that they are incorporating D&D in other games which is a good thing for other people since they get a feel of the game.

IIRC, they actually run WoW using the d20 rules, modified as per the Warcraft Campaign Setting. It's like NWN Multiplayer.
