It's that time of the year again.

Nothing too exciting yet, but we'll see.

The Phyrexians are.. Apparently the phyrexians made their way to Mirrodin way before when Karn made Mirrodin coz he's tainted with the "virus" that creates these phyrexians

Ooohh! So the Phyrexians are still alive!

(While I like Phyrexians, is WotC running out of ideas??? )

Check out the previewed White cards: great damage-to-mana ratio, both answers to some of the more popular removal spells and, perhaps best of all, both Knights!

Are these the missing pieces to the Knight-Exemplar deck? Time will tell!

Also, interesting design on the Crusaders: each has Protection from an allied color and an enemy color. Thinking about it now, though, I suppose that has more to do with affiliation (Mirran vs. Phyrexian) than anything else.

I'm liking Mirran Crusader somewhat more, if only because Double strike is less restrictive. I mean, why play Infect in generic SuiBlack? It doesn't help to win the race at all. Plus it's that much easier to get away with cheap double strike shenanigans, as opposed to INFECT NO BLOCKERS PUMP DOUBLE STRIKE.

Consecrated Sphinx

This has to be the first card from Besieged that's caught my eye. It's certainly the splashiest so far, I'd say. Though it's not that hard to kill, when it sticks, it's pretty much game. It'll keep your hand full of counters for protection, etc. Plus, the ability is optional; no losing games from forced draws (unless you miscount or something).

That Sphinx look like it has a lot of potential.

Ah, yes, that's right. I didn't see anything too spectacular, though.

Actually, it looks like this entire block is floundering. IMO R&D really dropped the ball with Infect, as it's such a linear mechanic. Some of the best cards they've printed have Infect, and that actually makes it worse I think due to the fact that it's really only usable in an Infect deck.
