Hey guys! It's been a while since we hung out (or at least for me) without DnD in mind. I'd like to ask if anyone's up for a small outdoor getaway within the metro, at the La Mesa Eco Park in Fairview, QC.

Anyone interested? Pandesal picnic tayo! Plus there's rappeling, zip line, etc. Check out at http://www.lamesaecopark.com/.

Come on! Minsan lang tayo cheesy. Laughing

I prefer a Saturday, so as not to actually be in conflict with D&D games (which is important in the context of these boards. Razz)

But yes, an estimate of the costs would be nice. XD

Hmm. Sounds fun. Cast vote for next Saturday, am personally no go on Sundays (arnis in the mornings). Damage control would also be a side concern, but I don't think it should hit us hard, right?

The hiking course or rappelling sounds interesting, but the site is pretty sparse on details. Or alternatively, if anyone is game for a more high-impact run, the paintball course?

On the activity, I vote for rappeling.

And transpo, too. How are we getting there?

Voted for next Saturday, which is perfect because I won't have morning class due to UPCAT Very Happy

I'm a bit apprehensive to try rappelling, because generally people in my weight class who attempt to defy gravity do not produce particularly favorable results. So I'd rather go hiking, I think, else I'll probably just watch random rappellers Smile

Gravy, looks like it's next Saturday, then. Smile

Now... how do we get there?

haven't done rappeling in a while, should be fun

@b_b: don't worry about rappeling, back when in my CWTS I had a couple of classmates bigger than you and they did just fine

To commute: http://www.ph-commute.com/2009/08/commuting-to-la-mesa-ecopark.html

We can all meet up at say TechnoHub or McDo at PHILCOA area in the morning, 7:00 AM. Be in your casuals/sports wear with rubber shoes.

Who can buy Pandesal? The rest can contribute with their favorite spread.

We can rent chairs and tables there. Or, we can bring a mat or banig. Classic!

So, we're good Saturday next week? Should we set it in finality?

Silly mnightsilver. We always have DnD in mind. Even if we're swimming in a lake reported to have barracudas. XD

Next saturday na! Itaga sa bato!

True. I had to rappel once with someone thrice as big as me as the rescuee and I had to bring him down from 15 meters high. Btw, I've been there. Fun but it's very tiring.

Damage on wallet as I remember is:

40 - entrance
100-150 - cost of rappel/ wall climbing/ zipline
500 - cost of nipa hut
150 - lunch

total cost: 840

There are some good spots to play football/ frisbee/ tag

Btw, there are some public pools in the vicinity but it's highly not recommended.

I'm not sure if I'd go though. You can't miss it though just traverse commonwealth until you see puregold and there's a big sign there saying la mesa eco park. It's actually near the first FR sight.

Sounds like fun! XD
I've been there over a year ago and I
had a great time! It's pretty much affordable there.
We tried rappelling, wall climbing, boating and paint ball and if I remember correctly, we didn't go over 1k per head (cost of transpo included).
I can't remember paying anything for the chairs and table (we ate near the boating area).

I suggest, each should bring their own drinks (lots of water and maybe, gatorade).

Really hoping for a good weather on Saturday.
And oh, does anyone have an idea, based from previous UPCAT weekends experience, if traffic's gonna be bad along commonwealth ave on that day?

Traffic is really really bad. Last year 5am in the morning and I could see the traffic going to UP not moving.

So late for this, but anyway... This plan's back at the bottom of the queue. Will ask again next time, or if anyone else want to bring it up. Razz
