So as many of you may have noticed, BT hasn't been moving for quite some time now. It seems to be the time to let go of the project,personally. Of course, other people may decide to pick it up, but for me, I'm done with it permanently.
As a final present, I present you with an opportunity to neuter your characters. What does this mean? Remember when you guys used to keep records of your characters here? You may repost your characters and current xp here in this thread, with less restrictions. In addition, I encourage you guys to develop your character's stories in a more neutral setting (aka Points of Light from PHB). Then, whenever someone runs a game of an appropriate level, you can ask the DM if your character can join.
For example, say b_b runs a game that has level 5 characters. I can decide to show Ereth Aurs'hilk, level 6 fighter, to him, and ask him if I can join. If he accepts, I gain xp in however he wants to. Suppose that by the end of the game, Ereth reaches level 9. I then fix her stats here, and put it in storage again for another potential game.
Encourage the DM to factor in your character's backstory and personal quests into the game. Keeping track of your character's story so far becomes your own concern.
This way, the characters that you've invested time with do not go to waste. The only real side-effect is that your character may not have world-coherence, but as long as the personal story is intact, I think it will be fine. And of course, your DM should be okay with the idea as well.
Reminder: Repost your chracter on this thread or on a separate one from his or her BT entry, because xp gained by the neutered characters will not be shared by their BT alter-egos. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |
