On a related note, I just got the supplies for the DnD Game Day but have no intent of using it. Maybe one of you guys can take it with you on that day?

@Q: I think I'll be in UP later in the week, let's coordinate on that. How many kits did they send over anyway?

@Rev: Only one module and I already passed it to AAS. No additional support since the RP D&D community isn't that developed IIRC. Hopefully after this event, Wizards might change their mind about it.

Yes, that's the idea behind the organization that comes with this event. If we can get a decent headcount, we can show the results to WotC, and hopefully get mroe support in the future. Wink

So tell your friends, and go to Eastwood on Sat!

Oh, by the way, gareth, do you still need extra DM's? If yes, what do I need to prepare? I'm excited. Very Happy

Damnit, why do all good things come at the same time?!?!

I have plans on Sunday with my highschool buddies, and on Monday there's that interview day (though that's not really much hassle)

The problem is I can only go to one, OGM or highschool buds... Question

Darn, I have to somehow go to both. Twisted Evil

One, both the OGM and WWDDGD are on a Saturday, not a Sunday.

Two, the OGM is next Saturday.

Three, this is the WWDDGD thread.

Four, if the HS meetup is Sunday...how, in heaven's name, does it conflict with a Monday thing? (Unless it's an all-nighter).

Get your problem straight, man!

I think he's only allowed to leave on either Sat or Sun, not on both days. Wink

ah, i was suppose to put WWDnDGD, not OGM. I was reading both threads at the same time, and assumed that they will happen on the same day.Embarassed

And yeah, BJ was right, I can only go on either dates, because that Sunday event is indeed an all-nighter. Mainly because I do believe I'm short on cash (as usual), and secondly I have (supposedly) errands to do on Saturday.

I got a text message from Doc. (makes me rage vs. WotC/WPN at this moment)

"it is my regret and unfortunate resnponsibility to announce that the worldwide d&d game day slated to happen on september 19 for the philippines WILL NOT push through as intended. the event hinges on the arrival of the game kits and rpga membership packets, whichhas not arrived, nor signs of it to be released to us is given. i'm sorry to put everybody's hope & expectations up only to be let down by "technical difficulties." if any developments occur within the next few days, we are sure to let you know. please pass on the sad message to all parties concerned."

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

...screw it.

i'll still go to meet the people and make a proper registry of the attendees... probably run some LFRPG modules while we're at it. I'm not going to waste this day.

Q, did you get the actual kit (with the miniatures) or did you get the preview packet?

BRB... going to class.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF wizards.

From what I've seen of what Q got, we only have the preview package.

It doesn't change things. This is still going to be the first time a hella lot of D&D geeks ever showed up in one place to do nothing but throw D20s. And don't blame WotC - after all, according to the numbers they've been getting, NOBODY IS BUYING RPGS IN THE PHILIPPINES.

You can blame a lot of people for making that situation possible - the ridiculous prices of RPG books in the country, vendors/distributors being assholes and underordering books and not marketing their product AT ALL, and the easy availability of scanned torrents here in the Philippines...

But we need to be there to show to WotC that we are here, and we would sell our left kidneys to have our own books to have, hold, and love forever, IF ONLY THERE WERE ANY OF THEM HERE AVAILABLE.

Now that you say it that way, it does make more sense. Sad But still, with the whole fiasco here in Asia-Pacific (re: ghost members playing, false reporting, dud membership, etc.) this is kind of the last straw, of sorts, for me.

in other news...

it was great to see so many people playing D&D gathered in one roof. (my first encounter with HGC and AEGIS folks). I was hoping at least half of the crowd I invited on my end could have attended. I'm sure they'd have fun.

I've uploaded some of the photos I took last night. Forgive the bad resolution. (it's just a phone cam)

I actually had to DM yesterday, thanks to the imbalance of DM to Player ratio (which never occurred before at an AEGIS event that I've been to), but this was a far more fun experience than the last time I ran a 4.0 game

Props to my co-DM Poisonous Magpie, and my players (including Erwin and Gareth). That was one cracked-out game, and I'd love to do something similar again in the future. Laughing

@t-b-c: gareth wasn't one of the players. It was me and 3 others (don't know if I should mention they're name, though you should invite them to join this forum).

and btw, is it me, or is that 5th pic (starting from top in gareth's post) has BJ's arm disappearing into another dimension O_O?

@erwin: i think it's a panoramic function of the camera. it captures 3 seperate images then automatically splices them together.

problem occurs when the people in the frame move.

If you notice one of the emptire pics of Dell's foodhall, the waiter there has a doppelganger.

Whoops, sorry for the mistaken identity Gareth.

BTW, the size of the pix on this thread are causing my laptop to attempt seppuku.
