It's the one where they're trying to get rid of certain organizations. If they're not just saying so outright (e.g. "special interest orgs are now dissolved") they're trying to muscle smaller orgs into extinction, i.e. upping the minimum amount of necessary members from a fixed value like 15 members to something like 5% of UP Diliman's student population.
It's all bollocks, basically. So yes, I think attending this... thing would be o-k. |

5%? ... that's big.
Is this code of student conduct already in effect?
What are you plans, current leaders of HGC? What are you contingencies? How do you work around with this one? |

Work-around, iirc, is to combine with other smaller groups to form the minimum member base (100?). But it's the current guys job... so yeah... >.> |

I do believe there is talk of something to that effect among small organizations.
I'll bother people about trying to get a representative to the meeting. We'll see... |

That's the straightest answer we can get.
Are you guys already talking with other organizations? What are the organizations you identify with more or less same interests as ours? |

Ex Libris, for one, and perhaps GRAIL. AME to some extent, but it's not like they actually need to join up with anyone, being that their population should be well over the minimum.
We haven't discussed the whole alliance thing much, actually. But it's certainly a consideration. We've jokingly referred to it as the UP Vanilla Alliance (with org mission/vision: we're only together to not get dissolved, and to stick it to the man), but honestly, something of this sort might be necessary in the near future. I imagine other orgs are probably open to the idea, at least, so it shouldn't be entirely too difficult to pull off.
I'm just glad we're all so multi-faceted, and can get along so well with so many other special interest groups ![Laughing](images/smiles/icon_lol.gif) |

Ex Libris is plotting the same thing too. Not so sure about Grail. I think they're still a CAL org and it's a little cushier for college orgs. Oh and not that it matters but the minimum is around 80 rather than a 100 |

This brings us back to AAS's original point; we must attend this event (and not just send a representative;attend!) and show our support. |

Not saying that the 2009 Student Code of Conduct isn't a pile of cow dung, but this may end up working towards our advantage if we end up allying with one or more like-minded org and end up a bigger, stronger org in the process. At the very least, this is going to give us a chance to get out and make contacts in the UP community. |

I don't know guys, but I feel optimistic about this topic. Anyway, there are a lot of fall-backs. For now, let's just wait... I've a good feeling on something good that's going to happen. |
