|
I'd like to know if it's okay for me to get the hobbygamers club's contact info (complete address, e-mail, phone number, webpage).
I would like to register your club's location into the Wizards Play Network as one of the playing venues that I can request sanction... it'd also help when events get organized.
Also, if there are other locations/venues you guys tend to hold events in, could I have that info, too?
So far, these are the game locations/venues:
Hobbystop (I believe Manix has this on his record)
Gamecrab (currently closed T_T)
Starbucks (BlueWave Mall, Marikina)
Neutral Grounds (all branches)
Marist School (Marikina)
Global City Innovative College (new location)
SM Megamall (Megatrade Hall)
Mall of Asia (Expo Center)
West of Ayala Condominium (Makati, Deck Level)
Pending venues: (cause they haven't replied to my letters of request yet)
Greenbelt 1 (2nd floor Hobby store, a few feet away from Data Blitz and Cscentrl)
Fully Booked Building (Bonifacio High Street, Basement Level & Top Floor)
A-Venue (Makati Avenue)
RPGA or Homebrewed (D&D, Magic, Etc.), I believe it's to our benefit that we can make the rest of the world know that we're all here, and we're active.
---------
there's also the little fact that it'd be easier for me to request for event materials for you guys to use if you're going to hold events. (i.e. more RPGA membership kits, Magic TG gameday kits, D&D Delve kits, etc.) AND they'll send it to the registered venue address.
------------
so, let me know if it's alright with you guys. You're holding a GA, right?
I wanted to personally show up and discuss this matter with you all, but i don't want to end up infecting you all when i'm sick. hehehe.
happy gaming. _________________

I'm in Computer class, with only fleeting moments of Internet time, but I can PM you the details that you require by the time I get home (5-6pm).
Thanks for this! Being sanctioned is a good way to recognize our org. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

A PM has been sent to you, gareth.
To the org: The following information are left blank; please PM gareth with the pending details within the day. Otherwise, I'll advise gareth to send my information instead. That means all the freebies will pass by my hands before getting to you guys.
Complete Address:
E-mail
Phone Number
I used our Squidoo Page (oh, I do encourage you to submit me updates for that page) as the org webpage.
Gaming Venue:
"AS Hill"
Palma Hall
University of the Philippines
Diliman, Quezon City
Oh, if it matters, we do not currently have an active RPGA participation, but our group does have a homebrewed world, "Bonethrall". I'm looking forward to running RPGA sanctioned games. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

It's easy to run RPGA games, really. especially once we get this ball rolling.
The RPGA numbers (once registered) and your on-line records (once you guys access them and input your personal details) will ensure you get stuff with the D&D Player Rewards Program.
Once you're an existing RPGA member, you just need to fulfill the requirements if you wish to gain Dungeon Master status at the Judge Center. Then the D&D DM Rewards will be accessible to you.
anyway... i'm going to snooze now. I'll fill in more details later.
Thanks for the PM, chief. I already submitted it as a Venue (Residential). Now we just wait for it to reflect on their database. Then, I can request them to send us some goodies to get started.
To The Org: I'm delaying the submission by 1 day just incase someone else sends me a more detailed contact info. _________________

I don't mind handing over my contact info for this since I still go to U.P. regularly and I'm still a member in the official sense of the word. Barring anyone else more official coming forward, my place might be better. How big are these packages they send? If it's heavy then it might really be more efficient for me to receive them first since I have a way to transport them for the org's dissemination. _________________ All hail the Bongolian Ultraprawn! |

They're not X-BOX HUEG (at least, the D&D ones aren't... Not sure about the M:TG and other DCI ones, like Star Wars).
Nobody has come forward with the details for AS HALL. So I've placed both BJs and AAS as venue addresses.
If you guys can also get hold of the Organizing stuff with SM Marikina, I could add them, too. _________________

Well,
Quote: | "AS Hill"
Palma Hall
University of the Philippines
Diliman, Quezon City |
Are the thedatils of Palma Hall. The building itself is within UP, and UP is large enough to warrant no further address other than Diliman, QC. Can it be turned into an official venue for games, but not for mailing? That is where most of the games take place, after all.
If not, then AAS's address should be considered as the org mailing list. Woud it be easy to change it? Having rotating oficers, the address could change every year. @_@ _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Well. I can probably use that, plus AAS's e-mail and phone. What's Diliman's ZIP? I'm too lazy to look it up XD
I just assumed there's actually a trunkline that can be used to reach the org within UP somehow. XD silly me.
I can always ask Customer Service to change contact details of the ORG + AS Hall whenever officers change. _________________

IIRC the WPN doesn't allow private houses to be registered as gaming venues. I did register AS Hill before for Magic and I just added West Wing to PH. Also, Diliman's ZIP is 1101.

You can change the shipping address every time you request for prize support. So no problems there. _________________ I shut my eyes in order to see. |

Thanks, Q. If you have AS Hill's already listed on you, then this makes it a whole lot easier. ((I used one condominium as a venue, they had no trouble using it XD))
By the way, can you grab SM Marikina's Balasa as another of your Magic:TG Venues? I'm practically 0 when it comes to CCGs. (and do we have a list of existing judges in our neighborhood? O_o)
----------
if we can get our RPGA population and activity up, we can finally break-off from Australia and get our own Region. (possibly a section of Dragon Coast, or Sembia itself) _________________

Oh yeah, I should get to registering SM Marikina soon. I only know of one judge in the area, but you can probably find some in the judge locator applet in the tools section. _________________ I shut my eyes in order to see. |

Alright, folks... submitted application for UPC's AS Hall as another public venue for D&D. Q's got it down as Magic:TG venue. So once WPN puts them together, the org's prettymuch covered.
Q can be the Senior to oversee main WPN stuff since he's the involved Master-level GM in your org. I can be a deputy to help out in managing RPGA membership and event tracking (But only until you guys finally get your very own leaders and such as GMs, too... then I'll just sit back and watch the fun. probably go back to making paper towns/dungeons/terrains)
thanks again for your cooperation. the org is awesome on its own, but this will definitely be a nice icing on the cake. _________________

Okay... I dunno where else to put this but...
Heads up, people. We are planning something big this September. It will tie in with WotC's release of another of their Core Books. So in fact, it will be a GAME DAY event (screw Australia and their jurisdiction over Asia-Pacific Region... they never cared for us, anyway.) Doc Hans has already ordered the kits for the event and all that's left will be the participation. (though he hasn't announced where the venue will be... AS Hall kaya? *cross fingers*)
Now, once the RPGA kit that I ordered arrives, I'll hop over to AS Hall and try and get interested folks into RPGA membership. (Thanks for BJ and AAS for their patience and cooperation to this endeavour). I'm hoping Q will also jump in on this so we can cast off with a few RPGA campaigns for starters. I will prepare maps and some terrains to add some flavour. I will use this thread for further developments, etc.
By the way.. what's the dimension of the tables over there that we could use for the game? Shall I bring a foldable block? _________________

This sounds interesting. What corebook would that be? DMG2?
Guys presently in UP? Seen this one already?
Now, the actual tambay grounds are open air, and so, that's not really a good game location given the potential weather. An alternative may be the lobby of Palma/AS Hall. Will forward to the current go-to-guys. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

yup, it's going to tie in to DMG2.
Hmm.. open air's alright, if we are allowed to set up tents and such... by the way, who do we coordinate for permissions and such of bringing in stuff to use for the game? _________________

You coordinate with the active members of the org, and they file the paperwork and stuff. I don't think a tent will be possible, though; admin's picky about tents iirc. But tables will be fine. (And if asked about it in advance, they're sometimes kind enough to give way)
My information may be out of date, by the way. Chances are, the kids handle things differently, now.
Oooh. Will it be possible to get DMG2's on the game day? XD XD XD _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

i think the marketing strategy point on that one is for WPN organizers to tie-in to a store (like Neutral Grounds or Gamecrab or Hobbes n Landes) first, so Wizards will also ship some stuff (like the DMG) for us to sell alongside Game Days. (I'm not sure how much that's going to cost me so I better go bug them on the fine details of it.) but of course, I'm going to buy me one DMG2 when it comes out on 19th of Sept.
hmm... tents are no-go. oh well... time to have maps printed on tarps. |

I can try asking either Courtside or Comic Odyssey for support for this, though we really need to iron out the details beforehand. Another option for a gaming venue is at Courtside Galle, that one I'm sure I can get. _________________ I shut my eyes in order to see. |

between now and Sept 19... I believe we've got enough time to flesh it out. Just waiting on Doc Hans' word.
oh... but I still do plan on hosting a few Living Forgotten Realms campaigns before that. i just wish Wizard would hurry up and get the kit here. XD
so how did the SM Marikina venue registration go?
I tried doing it on my end, too... but they haven't mailed me yet and nothing on the database about it, either. |

oh, by the way... the RPGA kit is going to be delayed in distribution... No thanks to our Australian buddies. Apparently, there's been incidents of rampant false reporting and applications. And due to that, wizards is now being careful on their distributions in Asia-Pacific Region... (crap)
This crap is what a lot of us in the philippines was hoping to avoid by requesting wizards for a region of our own. but apparently we don't have enough of an activity to warrant such grant. T_T
another thing, how many from hobbygamers will be able to turn up in the September assembly? Doc Hans is trying to speculate on the headcount so he can prepare enough materials and coordinate with stores (i.e. neutral grounds, hobbies world, etc.). If alot can turn up during the event, we believe it'll be more than enough to convince wizards that we deserve our own region. _________________

Give us an exact date, please. Then I'll see what I can do. Some AEGIS peeps might be interested as well; they've recently undergone a re-boot, after all.
Oh, in case you didn't see the other thread:
Quote: | Paging gareth:
Do you have the ability to run a D&D Miniatures Legendary Evils Release Event? I'm kind of looking forward to this set, because it has the huge balor, an elder green and iron dragon, a frost and storm titan, an ultimate tyrant beholder, a remorhazz, and other huge minis... And they're all visible! @_@
But, if we wait for NG to stock them, I think we'll have to wait until around October... :/ So I'm wondering if you have enough pull to do this... |
Although, I think Legendary Evils already came out. :/ _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

we can make that Lgendary Evils WPN request to supply them but we still need a store/shop to tie-in for that to work... AFAIK Neutral Grounds has been the one representing philippines with that.
the date is the 19th of september, by the way.
unless DMG release is moved. |

When: September 19, 2009 (saturday)
What: 2009 World-Wide D&D Game Day: Dungeon Master Guide 2
Who: Everyone who wants to play D&D, obviously
Doc Hans is still trying to strike out where the venue will be (The current venue planned is Pioneer Hotel). But if you guys could provide one, the materials are being shipped over to him.
It's going to be fun, as i'm looking at the adventure creation guide and it looks hella fun.
By the way... you guys better start making your level 6 characters (following the RPGA Character Creation Rules, of course). But if it's too much of a bother to think up of one, the adventure kit's got premade characters for you to use.

What is your expected headcount, gareth? I can open it up with AEGIS, but I need specifics real soon. We don't want people choosing one event over the other, so as much as possible, we want the two to be held in close, if not the same, locations.
Lemme poke AEGIS about it already. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

Well Doc Hans is preparing for at least 100 people. (We're kind of hoping at least 60 could attend, cause we don't really know if more than that will even show up for the event.)
If you like, I can try and convice Doc Hans to change the venue to where AEGIS is supposed to be so nobody would just get lost.
sorry for the late response, midterm exams and projects killing me.
looks like it's my turn to chew on deadlines, hehehe. |
