Hey there,
Found this forum from trackbacks on my blog over at wordpress. Nice to see an active hobby games board. I figured I'd register and say hi, and maybe talk shop with other RPG gamers.
If you're curious, my blog can be found over at my sig. _________________ Life and Times of a Philippine Gamer |

Oh, hello, pointyman2000!
Revan here, welcome to the Hobby Gamers' Circle boards (hobbygamers for short). A friend pointed out your philgamer blog on wordpress, and your articles make for fascinating reads. The M:tA Boston campaign almost makes me want to revive our org's old Diliman By Night games again :p.
Feel free to check our boards out, start a few threads, or whatever. Getting in touch with other gamers can be tough, so every new contact and source of info is always cool. Enjoy! _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Welcome aboard!
Most of the people here are playing D&D 4ed. We currently play in our own game setting, nicknamed Bonethrall. Feel free to look around, and if you're interested play a few games with us _________________ There is happiness for those who accept their fate. There is glory for those who defy their fate

Greetings, comrade. Welcome.
As erwin has mentioned, we play quite a bit of D&D 4E. We also dabble in nWoD every so often, particularly Mage, but haven't in a while due to... uhh... but haven't in a while. _________________ And I'm still, still longing. Still cold... so cold. |

D&D 4e? Cool.
I've got the books and I'm admittedly liking the changes they've done, though there does seem to be a pretty heavy bias towards combat powers, while simultaneously shoving non-combat further into the narrative category even with the skill challenge mechanic. Still, it's a solid game.
I'm pretty heavily invested in Mage: the Awakening at the moment given that I'll be running a campaign in a few weeks. Maybe I'll get caught up on the old threads first to get a better feel for the community before I start up new threads. _________________ Life and Times of a Philippine Gamer |

M:tA is pretty much the nWoD game that we like the most (and our most succesful nWoD game was a Diliman by Night, a Mage Chronicle). We tried running Werewolf, but we ran into bookeeping problems (moon phases, etc). I would have still wanted to give Werewolf another shot, but no takers.
Core games right now are Magic:tG, D&D4, nWoD. Occasionally, we throw in a few interesting one-shots, like In a Wicked Age. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Interesting. So far I'm playing in a Hunter: the Vigil Chronicle set in Black Lagoon's fictional Thai City of Roanapur. I'm liking how Hunter keeps the desperation of being only human while going up against the supernatural while giving you options on how you even the odds.
Some hunters get special powers, while others rely on luck, bravado and "Practical Experience" a separate pool of exp that gains with every supernatural encounter, making for very fast advancement. _________________ Life and Times of a Philippine Gamer |

That I've got to see. Hunter...Hmm. Well, I'm considering grabbing a copy of Hunter...Hell, good point about keeping it human. _________________ Words are the only bullets in truth's bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

Ah, yes; wordpress trackbacks are always a charm. Princessa, our resident goddess, was the first one to notice your blog (her interwebs-fu is strong), but I was the one who pointed it out to Revan.
Anyways, I'm the strict moderator around here, so I want to remind you to play nice here. Other than that, I'm looking forward to seeing your posts. It could pique our NWoD interest again, at any rate.
Oh, have you heard about the OGM? It could be an excellent opportunity to game together. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |
