Hey guys.
Now, I'm normally not a sucker for online activism, but I couldn't let this one stand. Did you guys hear about the incident regarding a sophomore killing a cat at the NIP? Well if you haven't here's the lowdown, and an online petition regarding the matter.
Justice for Tengteng
Now, say what you will about the entire craziness of elements of the animal rights movement, but what this student did to that cat was absolutely disgusting, and then to top it all off, he had the nerve to brag about it online. The University of the Philippines and its students should stand for the highest ideals of humanity and decency, even if we fail to meet that high mark. I think it would be a great shame if the students, faculty, or admin would simply let this incident pass.
If you agree with the spirit of the petition, then please sign it. If you don't agree with it, then at least thanks for reading the spiel.

Signed the online petition. I condemn this act of atrocity on the poor kitty by the UP student.
(btw, I checked the pictures and thank heavens the dead kitty is not Nosfekittycatu)

I read the blogpost written by that cat-killer. In cold blood and truly abhorrent.
I signed it.
This is the entry, for people who haven't read it.

Hours later, habang abala sa XRD, a guy came in. Tanong niya: "Sinong pumatay dun sa pusa?" Bang! Dat was me boi. Guilty as charged. I didn't see it die pero sabi ni Myles it coughed up blood or at least something like that daw. Didn't realize I gave it a fatal hit. This isn't the first time I've killed a cat but this time it's different. It didn't occur to me back then that the cat had a leash. So I think somebody owns it. Well it's very well loved in NIP from what I heard and I just ended it's life. |

Signed. BTW, if ever I see this guy in UP. Me thinks a lesson should be taught. I'm not a big fan of cats but they don't deserve such cruelty. That Candare guy should burn in hell.
