In the latest Ampersand (DDi) article, the new format for monsters for Monster Manual 3 was revealed. I can't show you which ones were converted due to (my soul being owned by WotC) some limitations, but I can show you some of my own work (which will be shown in an upcoming Combat Advantage issue).
So let's see how this new format works! Behold, the kapre, both in new format and old format form.

I could sort of see the difference.
1st is general statistics. then traits (special qualities if this is 3ed), then what powers to use with actions (standard, minor, move(?)). |

You got it right, erwin. The samples I've seen had entries for standard, minor, and triggered actions.
I was kind of guessing with the aura placement. They strike me as traits, but they could likely be included in the hp entry, too.
Oh, and notice the use of white space in the new version. I'm not sure if it will help, but with 4E books already being a little too white for my tastes, this might make the rereadability of new books even less IMO. (Luckily, I mostly rely on Insider these days. XD) |
