It's not July 28 yet, so I don't know. Very Happy

We did a pseudo-draft last Friday. Turns out, the one pack booster draft works in a quirky sort of way... Milling is actually a decent kill!

Milling does not work that well in tourneys because they take too much time to play with.

Uh, actually in a one booster draft, it could work. The minimum deck size is 25 cards. So if you could get a decent miller, you could finish off the game in 4-5 rounds, provided you can defend him.

btw, is the draft still on Monday, with Sona and all?

Well you do make a point. It's a booster draft anyway. But usually permanents like creatures and enchantments plus any cheese would win the game. Very Happy

Since Elbert's one-booster draft worked last time, he is now interested in running a casual draft tourney by bringing booster packs to the tambayan. Anyone available (meaning no class) can play and the game will start at four players. So watch out for this guys.

He made a good point, actually, as running a draft tourney improves the org card pool and updates the members' card stock.

Finally (and this is still tentative), Elbert and I are thinking of running the actual 3-booster draft tourney. Players are to be charged 450 each (cheaper than the sanctioned version), using the same rules in the sanctioned format. It's unsure whether one will be run while Eventide is still in hype, but definitely one will be run when Shards of Alara comes.

There'll most likely be a Shards draft on Wednesday, October 8; the format depends on the number of players. Just go to the tambayan after lunch.

Well, most of the DnD players don't draft anyway. And those that do will probably still prioritize your game. So, no worries. Very Happy

In a sudden twist of fate, BJ has decided to join the draft!!

Nah, I've committed to the DnD game already. Though Shards interest me enough to warrant joining the occassional draft.

Good luck with that. The cheapest charm is the Grixis Charm (PhP 30). Other charms are around 40. Bant goes for 70~80, depending on where you check. I suggest you pick those up at CQ before the hordes of QuSci students take them.

Yeah, though I'm not sure how many drafts elbert will sponsor. I was thinking of proposing that the org buy a box to sponsor more drafts, but with the card pool and all, the MtG budget is tight.

How's the orgs' fund anyway?? It's always the orgs' main problem regarding the projects that are lined up. Are you guys still collecting the mem fee every semester? We used to pay every sem at least to establish a decent source of funds.

Just spoke to elbert last monday. Having an Alara draft has little chance of happening.

Weird. I asked him about it last Friday. He said he'd just bring a box to the tambayan... Oh well. Anyone interested in single-pack drafts? If you get the packs from CQ, it'll be around PhP130 a pack...
