Recruiting!

Friday Game, 1300-1600H (1-4PM)
Type: City/Dungeon Encounters
Character Levels: 1-3, expect 1-2 level-ups and possibly lethal characters.
Party Size:5-6

The Hook: The Shining Scales smell opportunity in the chaos since the revival of K'maht, and want to make a play for the revival of their Glittering God. Rumors say that there is an object of power dedicated to the Lord of Wealth deep within the sewers of Mudtown, and the Shining Scales are hiring mercenaries to explore the rat and slime-infested tunnels and return this artifact to them. Great wealth awaits interested parties - provided that the authorities don't catch you, or the competition doesn't kill you first.

Interested players, post a link to your character as well as what role. Also, please add a wishlist to your character's thread.

Current players:
Controller: Da'at (AAS)
Leader: Fhrayle (BJ)
Striker: Worker9 (qbf)
Defender: Dreven bin-Hakoth (Revan)
Striker: Sparks (oghma)

Players are reminded that only official characters (ie, ones appearing in the Cast of Characters Thread) are allowed to join any game.

Is it alright if I just catch up by 230? I have a class before. Crying or Very sad Incidentally, I'll be using a defender if I join.

It's also a small concern; with a new batch, what happens to team Fagnus? Will they be benched for a moment?

I don't see any way for team Fagnus to not be benched unless t-b-c takes the Wednesday and plays simultaneously with Boy Bakal's newbie game and even then we still don't have a DM... :/

Oh and as for t-b-c's game. I want to play with my Warforged Wizard...so I'm waiting for him to be official...

That's fine by me, but talk to the other players as well. Maybe come to some arrangement with AcidBlue, who can only play UNTIL 2:30?

Officially, I actually do have a class. The real question is if I can muster the energy to actually attend it. Very Happy

You can count on Nagthar support in the form of Fhrayle (leader).

Update on the team roster:
Controller: Da'at (AAS)
Leader: Fhrayle (BJ)

I have no problems with people doubling up on roles, but hopefully the eventual team gets 1 of each role.

Fhrayle is an experiment on 4e mechanics: Can you finally dump-stat Con? Confused

Guess we'll see...

If juaberman is joining, then I can steward his character the short time he won't be around.

I am ok with this, but if there are other solutions I'd like that too. Razz

Count me in, and I want to take a defender role, probably a fighter. Character's still under construction, but offhand nobody's done a two-handed weapon build yet, right?

Controller: Da'at (AAS)
Leader: Fhrayle (BJ)
Striker: Worker9 (qbf)
Defender: Revan's Fighter

I'll be joining Spark in this campaign given that AAS's Campaign finishes this week. Shocked

We'll be needing someone who minors in leader. Nagthari will keep you alive only when it suits them.

ADD: Rev, my suggestions for big-stick fighter:
*Choose either Bastard Sword (Dex15, Superior Weap, elf works here) for all the cool sword effects. Polearm's b_b's stick already with his elf fighter, so this could be an interesting twist on it. This will be a good, rounded build, and all your defenses will be decent.
*If you choose either Axe/Maul, Warforged is best. I'd suggest maxing out Str in this case, and 15+ Con. Reaping Strike ensures damage, add in Power attack plus Reliable, high damage daily powers. You'll have awesome hp, and you'll eventually get Plate proficiency, but the downside is that your Reflex will probably suffer (You'll be increasing Wis, most likely)

Alternatively, if you already had a build in mind, nothing's stopping you from it. Wink

Reminder: Please bring your own RL sheets tomorrow. Normally I'd transfer them myself, but I'm currently committed to some other activity, and I won't be able to by tomorrow.

Do make sure that your RL and online versions are similar. Remember, if it comes down to it, the online sheet takes precedence.

Whoo, I survived DMing my first campaign!

*starts drinking heavily*

Well, there were some goofs, and I seriously underestimated how efficient you guys were at killing stuff. Laughing You were supposed to have a lot more trouble with the 2nd encounter - or you would have, if I hadn't forgotten that the enemy had a controller with them as well.

Anyway, as for the rewards:

First off, everybody in the party gets 260 XP.

You also have the opportunity to pick through the equipment of the traitorous mercenaries who tried to jump you at the gates to Mudtown. The guard commander was grateful enough to cart the bodies over to you, since he overheard Fhrayle talking about his desire to perform an offering involving those.

Anyway, the merc's equipment are absolutely mundane - they were ambushing arriving parties in case they had better toys.

Merc's equipment: Chainmail, hide armor, handaxe, crossbow, longsword, short sword, halberd, greataxe, warhammer

No loot yet, I'll award them at the start of the next session.

Also, feedback plzkthx.

Have the MM around with you is my advice. And then on the index cards, write down what you think the threat should be doing in its turn, instead of reprinting the stats there.

That way, you check the index for cues, but you look at the MM for actual crunch.

Of course, your DM pace is slow right now, but it's something that will improve over time.

Ooh, and I'm kind of sad I didn't get to kill Liamee. But at least i got to offer her. Laughing
