Found this in one of my old readings. Enjoy.
Quote: | Eating chicharon with vinegar is a stimulating experience. You can feel you mouth water as the moist, sour scent of vinegar hits your nostrils, then flows down to your throat and diffuses in your lungs. Eager to taste this scent, you pick up a small piece of curled chicharon and dip it into the vinegar, slowly, carefully, taking care not to soak the whole piece so as to keep some of the salt in the chicharon. The air bubbles on its surface crackle as they come into contact with vinegar. Then as you take a bite, you hear a high-pitched crunch and you feel as if you were eating air. You taste the salt dissolving and feel the bubble tingling and clinging to your tongue. The acid taste of the vinegar mixes with the salt, giving you a flavor that leaves your mouth watery and drooling for another taste of this salt and vinegar combination. | [/quote] _________________ I shut my eyes in order to see. |

Taba ng talangka apparently goes with everything...
Taba ng Talangka with...
... pepperoni crunch pizza thin-crust from Shakey's...
... balut...
... rice as sushi...
... pasta...
... plain, steamy rice...
... fita...

Strangely, it doesn't gop well with crab, though. You'll barely notice it present. _________________ Nosfecatu Publishing |

As soon as I...
1.) Get an oven thermometer for our oven (it apparently works)
2.) Get some baking tins/sheets.
Here's a new question for foodies:
The traditional "last meal" consists of one's PERFECT MEAL. What will your "last meal table" have?

I forgot mine.
I'd like grilled salmon with lemon sauce, with buttered veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes) on the side, no rice.
Dark chocolate mousse for dessert plus two pieces of dark cherry cordials.
Mineral water for me drinks. _________________ Expected, really.

Darn, this thread is the cruelest of the cruel.
@princessa: We have equipment for baking except the one I want the most: a mixer. Got an electric mixer? A hand mixer will do, although a heavy duty stand mixer will do better, a lot better. Unless you don't mind manual beating of egg whites for thirty minutes at top HAND speed, if you know what I mean...
@the-bumper-car: I was sorta thinkin' selling some for the coming Valentine's Day. I'm considering the possible market, though. Got any insight on this, guys? _________________ "When I thought I was alone, I found love..." |

I have an electric hand mixer here! I'm sure my mom will let me bring it out of the house - after all, I'm the only one here aside from her who uses it.
What are you planning to sell for Valentine's? _________________ Currently Running: NOTHING
