As for Freedom of movement, any other ideas, people? At it's current version, not even Kord, the brawler can grapple someone under it's effects... Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

But that is what freedom of movement is for; it allows the target to move freely against *any* impediment to motion. Instead of changing the spell, just grant Kord (or deities in general) the ability to successfully initiate a grapple against freely-moving character. You can even create a feat (epic or otherwise) that counteracts FOM.

or you could have a dispel magic aura surrounding Kord that specifically targets FoM spells/effects within its radius. I mean, he is the brawler, after all... cheap mortal magicks of that sort should be of little trouble to him. :3

His official classes are fighter 20 and barbarian 20. He has miracle at will and alter reality may help him since it is effectively more powerful wish (can duplicate even ninth level spells). But he is no epic spellcaster.

The problem is that how is Kord going to use alter reality. The easiest is to duplicate disjunction but is not really that effective. An epic ward can block that.

Well, the DM does not have to abide by the official build of Kord.

And, hey, Brawlers do grapple every now and then, but they are more focused on fighting with a reckless rage. If he was *the Grappler* then it would be another thing. Wink

Yes. But that's the closest a DM can have as a basis of Kord's overall abilities.

It would be unfair if a DM will just say that "Kord grapples you and your freedom of movement does not work."

But I think Kord spending a moment to alter reality is enough. Smile

House Rule

Hellfire, as written in FC2, is not considered Fire damage. In the chalice campaign, though, hellfire spells have the fire descriptor, although it is still not fire damage. Meaning, it can be affected by metamagic feats that target fire spells.

A hellfire spell substituted into another element is no longer hellfire. (It is now subject to resistance to that element)

A creature vulnerable to fire takes double damage from hellfire.

No official game on June6.

However, characters below ecl22 may, at their option, attend on Wed for a catch-up campaign.

ANNOUNCEMENT!

The Chalice campaign will temporarily be discontinued, citing the players' lack of common time schedules. Rest assured, though, that like the 9swords and the Abyss campaigns before it, we will eventually get back to our hellish excursion. Very Happy

Note: I have the next adventure readied. Players, just talk amongst yourselves and decide when to play. The minimum I need is a 4-player consensus.

I am, too. Rishnach was not as effective as the others mechanically, but he's starting to have some semblance of personality, and is in any case a blast to play. Except, there's simply no time this semester. So it'll just have to wait.

Players:
Xtian (good to go)
Mnightsilver
boy_bakal (test)
Revan
Supertotoy
Axis (improbable to come)
(Did i miss someone?)

Bj only needs four players. He said he can accept new players but we warn you guys that at our level he is not pulling punches. If bj gives you a go signal don't get to attach to your characters until it makes it third session. ^__^

Maybe I'll just try to watch a few sessions before deciding to join (if there are available slots)..

Myke's comment made me think twice [I draw a card!]..

Shocked

On character creation:
*One set roll or 25 point system. Starting ECL 21 (always, no matter what point in the game you decide to join), all Complete splats open. Other stuff need to be confirmed with me. Bring copy of PrC, feat, etc, or said feature will be deactivated from your character til you do bring it. Starting Gold =975000
*Pharagos is mostly non-epic. For flavor requirements, why is your character that strong? (Orcish champion frozen in ice for centuries, to be released only under the direst circumstances. 500year old elf who liked to travel so much, planar hopped and only returned recently. The possibilities are endless)
*On epic stuff: Check this thread for bluemage55's revisions on SRD epic feats, as well as ToB epic feats, which I will be using. You'll find the list more promising than the SRD.
On Gameplay:
*All "dice pools" exceeding 15 dice will be averaged (bring your calculators!)
*
Quote:

Again, with the exception of a select few, Pharagos is largely non-epic. And these select few are in the 30++ CR range. I advice against moving against them. That's why we're going plane-hopping.
Note, however, that unlike non-epic, the DM won't adjust the CR for the players. If, for example, you decide to take the fight to Asmodeus, expect to encounter all 60 of his challenge ratings (My asmo is more or less that level), no matter what level you happen to be in at the time. So, think about your moves carefully.

So, who wants to join?

Reminder: fix your flavor. We don't RP as much, but it's still there.
Plus, I have a question: How do you guys bring 250000pp?? That's still 5000lbs each.
Final advise: Remember to check this thread regularly. I have a lot of house rules in epic, and you might miss one of my "decrees".

I thought you killed a pseudodragon?

thought the Dragon Slayer has a "has slain a dragon" prereq? a psuedodragon is still technically a dragon

A half-dragon is a dragon.
A pseudodragon is a dragon.
There's evidence of at least one dragon with roots.

Ultimately, I'm lose with that requirement. He could well have just killed a Dragonblood. I don't really care. It works, as long as it's RP'd.

Which is my strict req't. It should be RP'd.

If he never killed a dragon, maybe he was a drop-out from Dragon Slayer College. Never passed a final exam of killing any dragon.
