I can't make it in the morning, I have a meeting with our barangay organization which I cannot miss. I'll probably be there in the afternoon or the evening, depending on how long the meeting would be. I'll be texting one of you guys.

Was at UP earlier (around 8-9) and no one (UPHGC member) was there. Went home afterwards. I have 2 different juabernumbers and both did not work.

Your lack of coordination with the alumni is disturbing. I don't care if juaberman or don5 don't frequent the boards; they are aware of its existence, and could instruct someone to be a pointman with us.

We even have a facebook page; you could have contacted Dum there. Another case is your lack of support for our online page.

Where's your alumni committee? If you don't have one, I suggest you change that. A_K would make a fine head for that committee, too. At least he makes an effort.

I am disappointed. Do you expect us to know where the event will take place if no one tells us?

In hindsight, I find it weird that it was said that the meeting was in the Tambayan. I think everyone who came in the morning automatically went to Sunken Garden. Weird... Mark T. and Van were there as early as eight (seven was seriously a pipe dream). I had to leave around 3:30 around the time Erwin popped up. We were in Philcoa by then. We didn't see any sign of Juabe at all in during the interval and I arrived at around 10-ish. I wish I'd have thought of correcting the mistake but I seriously didn't realize there was a discrepancy in the announcement and what everyone knew. In between running around trying to graduate (and getting terribly sick for a week), I'm in a very poor mental state.

The group is really disorganized right now. I honestly don't know why and I don't get a lot of time to spend with the group (three hours total spread twice a week, which is really my only break time so to speak) to try and figure it out. I was here Monday where there was a 4pm GA but well...some people were there and they distributed fliers for the Deck Out event and all but when 4pm rolled in neither Juabe nor Ralph appeared so nothing happened. As for the rest of the committees...well...there aren't any heads yet. There was supposed to be a GA last Friday and that was on the agenda only I couldn't go because of class (which I can't really afford to skip anymore since I have five absences. Stupid daily classes) so I don't know the details. Maybe we do have officers now. I don't know. I asked what happened earlier but no one really mentioned if we did. I wish I wasn't so busy but it's really hard to figure out what's going on when you have to run all over the place. This sem really sucks for me... =_=;;

Edit: We also tried calling Juabe in the morning to figure out where he was. Alas, my phone seems to hate his number.

IIRC they decided to meet up at the Sunken on the GA the day before. So it just probably slipped their minds.

I went at the tambayan, looked around at the lobby, stayed in the AS steps, and looked at the sunken garden while walking to the jeepney terminal. I did not find anyone.

Next time, make organization better. And... communicate.

In behalf of the whole org, we are very sorry for what happened. We thought that the itinerary will be posted Friday night, but apparently it wasn't done. It will do no good to blame people, so the org as a whole will take the blame.

Review of what happened in the last 2 days:

We held a GA Friday afternoon. We talked about the org renewal, and the anniversary event. We were supposed meet up at 7:30 in the sunken garden grandstand. We will play field games until noon or earlier, to cool off and prepare for lunch. We will eat at a place in KnL [I forgot the name of the place], then we will proceed to either Alva in Philcoa or the internet shop near Juabe's place. We'll play for a bit, then leave for dinner at around 5-6 pm. We will have dinner at Kowloon House in West Avenue. After that, people who still want to drink could go wherever they want [since there are many members who don't drink].

The schedule was supposed to be posted by Juabe. Apparently, he didn't. Of course he can't take the blame, people who were present at the GA [like me] could also have posted the schedule but we grew complacent.

So Saturday comes. I arrived at the grandstand at around 8:30. Van, JJ, Mark T., and Coro were already there. Van apparently went there at quarter to 8. Alvin texted me that he would arrive at 9am. We sat there waiting. Alvin arrived with the frisbee, him and Mark T. decided to join a frisbee clinic that was being held there. Us remaining decided to jog one lap around the oval. When we finished, it was still just the six of us [Alvin and Mark T. still in training in the clinic]. We rested a bit, then played frisbee. Don and Mark D. arrived, then we played some more. At around 10:30 we stopped playing, then we went to AS to clean up. We then went to the Main Lib to see if Guiz was still there. We didn't find her, so we decided to go to Philcoa already. Jake arrived in front of us [literally] and tagged along. We were in Alva playing by 12 noon. We didn't eat at one place, some ate at Meals to Go, others at McDo, etc. We were in Alva for 8 hours. Guiz, Jaykie, and Erwin arrived during that time. After playing, Guiz went home. Us guys remaining decided to eat at Trinoma since there were only a few of us [we didn't finish the reservation at Kowloon for the same reason, 'twas too expensive for 7 people]. We ate at Trinoma, talked about stuff. Alvin left after eating, so us 6 remaining guys decided to go to Timezone for videoke. We sang Michael Jackson songs until around 10:30.

We were trying to contact Juabe in the morning to ask if he will come, but he didn't reply to texts nor did he answer any calls. Ralph already said that he wasn't sure if he could come. We don't know if any of the alumni will come since we were not sure if the schedule was posted.

We really have to work on our information dissemination. We know that this forum isn't enough [actually, it is but not all members go here] and that the Y!Groups is underutilized. Only few members of the org know the phone numbers of other people, especially the alumni. It would help to have a committee where its member have lots of load and frequent the boards, and their job is to spread info.

All that said, we are considering some sort of a "make-up" event, as suggested by Jaykie. However, that will come after the org holds another GA in Monday to review the recent events.

I seem to remember there being a master list of all contact info for current members. Don't know who holds it though. Confused

Information dissemination seemed like the biggest problem here; but notice that you did plan too late, as well.

When dealing with us, the alumni, please be reminded that we have to schedule our time; it's not as freeform as yours, and having a concrete plan earlier increases the chance that we'll get to come.

There are other mediums, too, besides the one you mentioned. Mobile phones, the Squidoo page, Facebook, too.

But above all else, don't let this screw-up set the tone for how you will face the rest of the academic year. Instead of folding up and declaring how you suck at the job (like I've seen someone do), go GAR and fix it so that it future engegements fare better.

The last time I checked up on the guys, they've already sent a request to the OVCSA. But that was 3 days ago.

UPDATE: App booth is gtg starting tom. Unfortunately, Gloria declared a special non-working holiday on Wednesday in commemoration of our ex-president Corazon Aquino (God bless her soul), so I think 3 days ain't enough. I will propose an extension of the booth.

ACLE is under proposal pending status. I will still ask the ACLE front man from USC after this posting. But I'm pretty confident with the ACLE proceeding.

Good luck with the ACLE. I think I still have a spare leithold, I'll drop it off when I go to UP. Also, when is your next GA going to be?
