AFAIK, renewal is going just fine. We just need to attend some forums and we're good to go. After the renewal, then we can proceed to the application period. We will hold an event before the application period for publicity purposes [see below].
As for activities, we planned on something like an "open tambayan" next week. For the whole week, the tambayan will be open for people who play Magic etc etc. Basically it will serve as a venue where people can play and meet other people who play. The flier has been designed already, we're just gonna mass produce and spread them across UP. There is supposed to be a special event in July 8 [as I remember mknightsilver saying that it's the org's foundation day according to the constitution]. We're gonna get our old cards and hold a draft of some sorts. That's the event before the application period.
We also kicked off the Michael Jackson Fund a.k.a. Heal the Org Fund. Starting today, we will collect 5Php from every member everyday. At the end of the month, the collected money will be deposited in a bank. That will serve as the funds for any org activity we might think of in the future.
Another thing: about the or anniversary, we were thinking of holding it on July 11, so more people an attend [especially the alumni, so mark your calendars and get a day-off on that date!!!]. The venue will probably be in Red Box, Trinoma, but we will still finalize things on the next GA which will be held on Friday.
PS.
The open tambayan thing is titled "Deck Out". Free nuts will be served. Go figure. |

| Nice. Keep it going guys. Mknightsilver's return to org was a great help. If only he took my nomination to become secgen before then his ideas should have came to fruition earlier. T__T Just keep us updated here. I'm actually waiting for the org's app period, I'll be emptying my calendar for that. On the application side, might I suggest that it should be prioritize the org's number are not going up since there would be students graduating every year. All in all, good job guys!!! Kudos to A_kitty for the updates too. |

Updates!
The org anniversary event on Saturday, July 11 will be a whole-day affair. Majority of the members agreed on holding a "sports day" of some sort. Basically we play outdoor games [ultimate frisbee, traditional Philippine games, etc]. Meeting time is 7am [O_O] in the tambayan. Have lunch on around 11. After which, people can a] go to QMC to rappel and/or b] go biking and/or c] relax and/or d] play DotA, among other stuff. Then we have dinner, karaoke, inuman, etc. when night comes. More details after our meeting in Monday.

Okay. I missed the majority of today's GA since my class extended a bit. I don't know what was tackled so I hope that the others who attended could fill us up with the details.

We'll hold the application period after we renew the org. It's just a matter of time, really, but we might hold it in August so we can prepare for it.

The org renewal is taking long since.. well.. UP made it so. They spread out the required conferences/talks/etc. The next talk is on Monday. Go figure.

You can call people by their RL names in the UP HGC forum, since it's inaccessible to non-members anyway. 
Happy Bday UPHGC! I'm not sure if I'llmake it on Saturday (other stuff to do and all), but I'll try. Besides, I still have the first official document of UP HGC (the meeting track from July 8, penned by roohbee herself), and I want to hand it down to you guys. It's an artifact like the org nailcutter, so handle it with care! |
